Does What It Should
My 14-year-old LG front-loading clothes washer started retaining water in the tub. My wife asked, "Should we buy a new one (figure $1000) or call a repairman (figure $400), or can you fix it?So I bought this pump for $25. I looked up how to replace the old one on YouTube. The video said it would take seven minutes to replace. It took me five hours, but I got it done. And, yes, the pump works as it should.

It works! For a while…
It’s junk. It’s junk that drains the washer ok for a few months, then starts buzzing and failing. The local appliance part places tell me they have to keep a bunch OEM pumps in stock, if their shops were four times bigger, they still wouldn’t have enough room to stock the janky lookalikes sold here online. If you need a drain pump TOMORROW to get you by until the name-brand pump is available, get one of these. I foolishly trusted these and now am on my third. Time for name brand, OEM instead.Edit: two years later…like a wretch who can’t get enough abuse, I’ve bought more of these little trashy things over the past two years and obersved several failure modes. Previously, the impeller broke where it attaches to the shaft and most recently, the seals failed and water got into the bushings, which promptly wallered out to uselessness and ruin. I would spring for the $40 OEM but they apparently don’t last much longer. There’s no winning in today’s appliance world and we just crawl back for yet another janky pump, pushing through the angry tears and gagging at how much nasty buildup accumulates between disassemblies.

LG washer water pump
Pump is working as it should but is loud when running. Had to push out wire connectors to get wires to connect properly. Fit as it should with no leaks after first few loads.

Works
Son washed clothes with so much crud on it that the washing machine wouldn’t fully drain again. Repaired washing machine using YouTube video and this part. Washing machine still going strong for 4 months so far. Also ran a ton of white vinegar rinses through once the pump was replaced before installing it back in the house.

works perfectly and was easy to install
My washing machine stopped pumping the water out. The repair estimate was $350.I watched a few Youtube videos - there are two different ways of installing this pump.#1 you take (seemingly) the whole machine apart and install it from the front. I didn't think this method was for me as I doubted I could re-assemble everything.#2 you lift the front of the machine and lean it against the wall and enter from below. Took 10 minutes.Repair cost 2 hours of my time and this pump. Bonus: the amazing feeling that you could to it yourself!
