AiDot: I have a number of different remote ON/OFF switches for electrical appliances, but all of them are tethered to a fob. The fobs are handy… if you have them in your hand or in a pocket, but mostly if you are in range of the remote switch. You are outside the range of the controller/fob and you need to turn an appliance or light on or off… Or you don’t have the fob in your possession, but I bet you have your smart phone in your hand or in your pocket. What to do? What to do? You get AiDot! When I bought this little beauty I didn’t realize how versatile they were. First off, it’s good bye fob. Instead of relying on a fob that’s hard to keep up with you control your remote switches with your smart phone and the AiDot app. Using the app you can do turn the remote switches on from anywhere you have an internet connection.You stayed out past dark and you forgot to leave a light on and are going to have to walk into a dark yard or a dark house, alone! Not with AiDot… you take out your smart phone, open the app choose the room or location and click on or off, and your light or appliance with turn on or off, and presto change-o you are arriving home to a well-lit exterior and interior of your home. You forgot to turn on your pet’s water bowl or auto-feeder, not a problem for AiDot. Easier than texting, you open the app, select the room and your pet is fed and watered!Buy the AiDot’s, plug the light or small appliance in that you want to control, open the app, pick the location and press a small button on the switch and it links via your home internet with the remote switches, and you are in control. Economical to buy, easy to install, takes about a minute or so for each switch, and easy to use, it’s a win-win-win.

I didn't want to have to buy an additional device to get these outlets/plugs to work with my iPhone. I thought the Apple Home app or Google Home mobile apps could suffice but they won't let you turn on/off the outlets unless you are at home on your phone and connected to the same home wifi OR you have a stand-alone home device such as Alexa, Apple, or Google Assistant (if you have a stand alone in-home device you can control these from your phone miles away). SO since I want to control my outlets from miles away (away from my own wifi), I downloaded the Aidot app onto my iPhone. Well, this worked great. I could turn on/off my outlets (whether with my phone's wifi on or off), and from afar (not at home, remotely from phone). No fee for the app and easy peasy. You have to follow the directions in the package booklet, it can be a little tricky. Oh and one of my outlets didn't light up (nor sync) and I thought I would have to sent it back but I held the side button for 10 seconds and it lit up and was "discoverable" suddenly. Perfect. I plan to use the schedule function to set up stuff to turn on/off at various times automatically. Very pleased with this purchase price and functionality. Exactly what I needed in the price range I needed it to be. THANKS!

We have an electronic pet door for our pups. I saw this "smart" outlet and thought this would be great to have the ability to turn the door on and off without having to be right at the door, especially if I am out and running late and noting that my pups have been sitting by the door to go out (I have a security camera in the room as well so I can see them). The outlet setup was easy enough and works as expected. The only disappointment I have is that when the door is turned off, it will not turn back on via remote and must manually be turned back on, so my initial plan doesn't work. However, this is not any fault of the smart outlet...it still turns on/off using my phone app no matter where I am. This will work well with lighting or appliances that can always be left on and just turned off at the outlet which I believe is what this outlet was intended for. Overall, a great item and affordable. Highly recommend. This sure beats having a clunky timer that takes up a lot of room on the wall.

I've got 3 smarthome setups in the house, and for the most part, they can share each others devices depending on if I'm using google home(from my phone) alexa for voice, or smartthings. Most of my smart devices are z-wave or zigbee. This is my first time using a matter device, and my phone immediately found it, assigned the network, then asked which smart app I'll integrate with. I first chose SmartThings, since this is where the majority of my devices are set up in. It could not complete the setup. So I repeated the setup with Alexa and then google home, and found the issue....my network. It's a blended 2.4/5ghz network, and this requires 2.4Ghz. I've never had this issue with other wifi-setup devices that claim to need 2.4Ghz only, which includes security cameras (from multiple companies) and wifi plugs. Once I temporarily disabled 5Ghz on my router, I was able to complete the setup. From there, it all works as it should.The price of these were great, and I love the multiple smart app integration options, but I do wish it did not struggle with the 5Ghz. Especially since many other devices navigate it fine. Thats why I dropped a star. If you have configuration issues, heed the notice in the documentation that it requires 2.4 ONLY (for setup...ran fine after) Otherwise, the whole setup of my phone auto detecting it, scanning the QR code, and everything was some of the easiest configurations I've had.

I have a pretty large smart home setup and wanted to start replacing some of the items that didn’t work out so well. I picked up a few 4 packs of these to replace the Meross outlets as those kept giving me problems over the years and were not that reliable. These outlets were very simple to install, I love that they are matter compatible. I use the Apple HomeKit as my main setup and it was easy to add these to it. I just captured the QR code that’s on the device and Apple HomeKit did the rest. They connected perfectly and have been giving me zero issues over the last few months. I first grabbed just a couple to try out, I was impressed how they worked so I ended up grabbing another 4 pack and I’m glad I did. I would definitely recommend these!
