The inserts that go into the ground are quite long if you wanted to display them in a standard sized garden pot. The pot has to be quite deep or they stick up awkwardly. I pounded the inserts with a rubber mallet into an area with ground cover, so that only about 4 inches of the inserts were above ground before attaching the lights . I didn't measure exactly, but I would quesstimate that the inserts are roughly 12 inches high and if you were displaying the lights in and amongst taller plants that height is good. If you are inserting in ground cover, or lawn, you might have to pound the insert way down, so that it doesn't look awkward. Great light and soooo cute.

I am obsessed with these and can’t wait to order more! They are great little lights and the lighting is perfect. I had them at the bottom of my back stairs but moved them to the corner of the yard. No matter where they are, they work perfectly. I’m going to get more for the backyard and then some for the front and sides. They are just wonderful!

Love these! This way in the gentle breezes. They are not LED. They are a warm yellow light. I liked them so much I bought more. I have bunched them together. I get so many compliments on them. All my neighbors want some. 🙂

These solar lights are sturdy & survive the crazy wind that barrels down the mountain and swoops through our valley. The lights sway beautifully in normal breeze. The white bulbs are large enough to be seen 100 ft away both day and night. I placed these lights in my summer day lilies while only the leaves are growing in the spring. Also placed them in the daffodil leaves after the flowers have faded. The daffodil leaves live on for several months feeding the bulbs, so these solar lights make them look like a new flower in the daytime. Bonus!

These were very easy to install and they give a nice warm glow to my flower beds/pots. They are beautifully bright and give my yard a "firefly" effect. Highly recommend.

These are so cute and work so well, they come on every night and last all night long! It looks like my garden is full of fairies

They are beautiful but I bought 6 and 2 went out and I cant figure out whats up with them and Im an electronics guy.
