My 1.5 year old loves to play with bugs and throw them in the pool… so I thought this would be a great alternative and it worked! He loves playing with these bugs in the pool, the bath, and just in general. My nephews aged 2-6 also enjoy playing with them.They are a great size where I know he won’t swallow them and small enough to throw into a bag to take on the go. They are very realistic looking but definitely larger than a normal bug so it won’t scare you to think a real bug is in the house haha.Some of the colors when they do change color in warm water are bland (tan, gray, milky color). Also if the pool isn’t heated, it probably won’t change color but usually always does in bath water.Also, my son has enjoyed pulling at their legs… we’ve had these for months and I think he’s only managed to snap off one leg so I think that proves the quality is great!

Not only do these insect change color quickly when you insert them into the water, but they also dry quickly, making them change back to its original color quickly too! These insects are so much fun and we are obsessed. My one year old loves the squishiness of the bugs, and my three year old loves the color changing factor.We had kids over today for a play date and a 6 year old discovered these and wanted to play with them. He was blown away when I showed them that they change color with warm water! It was so fun seeing kids of all different ages (1,3,4 and 6) gather around to play with the bugs together. I highly recommend this toy.

I bought these for my nephew’s second birthday and he played with them for hours. It’s educational by teaching him the bug names, but also fun because they change color. They are very durable and have amazing detail.
