Adjustments before it spins then tighten
You need to adjust tamp side to suit the level of how low your tamper needs tamped down. Also I spin the distributor to the first line to spin whilst it goes down. It’ll tighten up again so I just need to re-step unscrewing the distributor to the 1st line and it’s as easy as that. Unbelievably good product that was worth the money 💵 and actually does work really really well 👍💯 especially for latte art and precision of coffee ☕️

Great quality - needs more depth
Using this with a VST 18g basket - which I imagine would be the benchmark for most - I find it does lack a few mm of depth to get a good tamp on the coffee puck.The way this screws together means that by adding more depth to the distributor side you are taking away from the tamper depth.Feels really good quality, nice weight and good smooth surfaces. For me - to maker it perfect I'd increase the diameter to 83.5 and add more depth adjustment by at least 5mm each way to allow for people using less then a double espresso dose.I don't regret buying this and still think it is a useful tool for my purposes.

Damaged in delivery
Item does as expected but a 33 euro tamp shouldn’t be arriving damaged

Don't drop it on your foot
It is very heavy and very solid. In truth I only use the distributor side, initially through a dosing ring to get the grounds into the portafilter then again without the dosing ring, using in the wrong direction to ensure an even distribution, a spin in the right direction to get a flat surface. I then finish with a tamper. Used with a bottomless I can see I get a good distribution and consistent extraction every time. Easy to adjust to the right depth.

Does not function as a tamper
The tamper depth does not run deep enough to be functional. I’m using a 58mm basket, with a 19g dose. Even running the tamper at full depth, the puck is no where near compact enough. It’s beyond my why there’s so many positive reviews for this.
