Loctite 342134 55 Pipe Sealing Cord, 145 m

Used this on 1/2 inch G thread non-tapered pipe fittings that didn't have a gasket face. This stuff worked like a charm with no leaks on the first try. Seems to be the modern version of hemp and pipe dope. I highly recommend this for situations where nothing else seals the leak.

I've tried all the rest and retaped some of them. Didn't always work the first round.But this was easy to use and worked Nicely product and is very easy to use. Highly recommended.

I mean, the layers of teflon tape SHOULD get into the grooves and make a good seal, right?I’ve seen plumbers put two, three, four layers of tape on NPT fittings and STILL get leaks. “Shoulda used recktoseal” (intentionally misspelled for copyright issue avoidance).THIS works. Fills in the deep crevices of the grooves, followed by a layer of teflon tape and WOW, good seal.Using it on a my farm deep well and it’s the first time in years I haven’t felt like I needed to crank up the torque on fittings ALMOST to the breaking point to get a good seal.Cheap insurance, get some.

If you don’t want to use a roll of teflon tape on large thread fittings, then use the pipe sealing cord. When working on the water system on my boat, I used an excessive amount of tape on 3/4” pipe thread and still had a small leak. Ordered the cord from Amazon and 12 turns on thread sealed perfectly. Then had to replace AC raw water pump and all the original fittings installed in Italy were using sealing cord.

This product failed to stop a water leak on 3 pipe fittings. I replaced it with ordinary white teflon tape and the leaks stopped. The original pipe dope developed a leak. Amazon sells much better teflon tape products including yellow for gas, white for water, etc., and at a much better price. Buy the tape products from Amazon and forget this overpriced product.
