Best pen refills ever! For the best pens ever!
I have had some of the refills for the gel impact 207RT BOLD in black and blue for better than 10 years. I have of course used these retractable pens at least that long. I am 73. These are the best writing and fast drying gel pens I have ever used in all my years. I enjoy the bold but you might like the fine or medium refills.

Great solvent-resistant ink, but be sure to purchase as add-on (for $1 per pack) or get gouged
I go through many, many pens by writing in a lab notebook everyday. For years, I've been sticking with these Uni-ball gel pens. First and foremost, the quality of the ink is excellent. After it dries (not so long as people claim–less than 5 minutes, usually), the ink is very resistant to any sort of solvent, because it is pigment-based. That is, the ink is not a dye, but is tiny black particulates suspended in a gel. I've actually put the ink through the test with chloroform, methanol, acetonitrile, DMSO, water, and a few other solvents. The pens themselves are very comfortable in my hand, and the redesigned rubber grip seems like an improvement. Another selling point, for me, was the ability to refill ink cartridges.Downside: The ink does not last long at all. I go through refill cartridges very fast. And not only are they not carried in most grocery or office-supply store, but the refill prices for most vendors online is more than buying new pens, which kind of defeats the purpose of getting refills. However, I did find a good deal through the Amazon add-on program: $0.99 per refill 2-pack instead of $3-5 as usual. But I didn't find that deal when I searched for the refills, so it was really more luck that enabled me to find this item (at this price) at all. So I bought 20 refill packs at once.

Wonderful Writing Experience!
I'm an artist, and sometimes draw with pens or pencils, so I'm very picky about them. This is a great refill for writing with. At least the point size I bought is, which is 1 mm, and is considered a broad point. I like the way it makes my writing look strong. I would be a good refill for drawing with, too, although you might want some different width points if you're going to draw.As advertised, this is a gel pen refill, which means the colors are strong. The black one is BLACK, not grey, and the blue one is a very dark blue, almost a blue-black. It looks good on stationery, and I would recommend it for someone with good bold handwriting. Most blue refills are a brilliant, royal blue, and they look cheap and junky to me. This dark blue is a rich, elegant color. It's also available in red, which is bright, but not TOO bright. I like the red to use when I'm proofreading copy because it's easy to see the marks because the red is bright, but also transparent enough that if you write over a printed or Xeroxed letter, you can still see the black underneath, which makes it easier to see what has to be fixed. When you first start writing with the refill, it's VERY juicy. Eventually, this excess ink (which I, personally, like) eases off. Unless you're almost out of ink, though, this refill lays down a wet, strong mark, and will smear if you rub it without letting it dry. It's a writing experience that's very similar to using a fountain pen, but the point is a bit more sturdy. The ink tends to sink into the paper, too, so it's a good choice for writing checks and signing legal documents. This is without a doubt, my favorite pen refill!Oh, I bought this at Amazon, and I thought the shipping was exorbitant, but then I was surprised that the refills arrived almost instantly! If you're in a rush, this might be the best way to go. I'd like the option of cheaper shipping and waiting for it though. If I'd ordered one package of refills, the shipping would have cost more than the refills!

I love this bold 1.0 but it’s pricey
A little pricey for two refills. But I love this pen and the bold black ink.
