Easy to install, and works brilliantly
The device does exactly as advertised, even better.I have a Rega P5 and the directions from the website where you download the instructions state that Rega Turntables might not work with the included sliding base. The P5 has the 3 point base and there are no issues. I can't speak for the old design for Rega as it had a threaded column under the pivot. But now that Rega has outfitted all new designs with the 3 point base this shouldn't be an issue with newer models.Anyway the sliding base allow adjustments on positioning where the arm is picked up, so this make it much easier to set and adjust. Different records have different lead outs so, this adjustment is necessary after the initial set up.Aside from the sliding base there are 2 other adjustment. The first one sets how trigger reacts to pressure. This will allow adjustment for lighter arms by setting it to a hair trigger reaction. The second adjusts the spring action on the lift. This allows you to lessen the spring for lighter arms and increases the spring pressure for heavier arms. You don't want to throw your arm up too fast.Again easy to install, download the instructions and read. After reading the instructions, following them takes about 15 minutes to install. Just take your time before you locate the lifter. Make sure you are perpendicular the arm and are clear of any obstructions that would prevent appropriate adjustments afterward. You don't have to be perfect, the slider base will allow you be a little sloppy.Regarding more recent reviews stating this is made out of cheap plastic and it isn't worth $5 much less $50. This is all subjective. I have this device on a $1200 Deck with a $600 cartridge. My Rega does not have an Auto-lift and I doubt any complaining to them will ever change their mind to add this feature. It just isn't going to happen. I've added pictures to me, it looks fine. My Deck has a black plinth with a silver tonearm. And I think it matches just fine. Mind you, any device you place on your plinth with affect the sound characteristics of your Turntable. So the lighter the better and the materials used to fabricate this device seem appropriate. If it were heavy it would it would definitely add mass to plinth. Personally I haven't noticed any changes after adding it probably because of the materials. Now, if you are putting this on a $200 deck, I could understand people complaining about the price. But to me, retipping my cartridge costs $400 and I can't use my deck until somebody by hand replaces the cantilever using a microscope. So, this little device delays the inevitable retipping process. If you are using a $200 deck, you have other options like buying a used deck that has either auto-lift or return. If you don't like the looks of this device, there an an alternative made by Espressimo. It's made of brass and is double the cost of the Q Up. I bought my Q UP in March of 2013 and it still works flawlessly in May 2017. If you think this is too cheap looking, buy the brass one. But, Black and Silver is perfectly suited to my eyes as I don't own any audio gear that brass or gold. There is another alternative called the newer Little Fwend that was released in 2015. The Little Fwend is much nicer looking and cost $250. I've seen arguments that somebody should make tonearm lifter with better materials. Well, they are there. Espressimo has been making their lift for over 20 years. The Q Up is newer and much more affordable. If I had a $10K deck, maybe I would be more willing to buy a Little Fwend. For the cost of $50, the Q Up is quite reasonable. There are alternatives and one is twice the price, the other is five times the price. So if you want better materials and aesthetics, it will cost you. Contrary to those that think that somebody could make a cheaper tonearm lift, it isn't happening. The audiophile market usually sells expensive things. While this thing isn't exactly cheap, it is half the price of what was previously available in the Espressimo. And apparently if you use better materials and make it look less utilitarian, rather and making making it less costly as others reviews have asserted, the price jump is 500% that of Q Up. After 4 years of owning mine, it is still rated 5 Stars. I see now Q Up has deal if buy 2 of them at a reduced price. I wish they had that deal when I purchased mine. My other Rega, a P3 has Alphason tonearm lift that has been out of production for many years. The Alphason works with small magnets, one clipped on the tonearm and another on the plinth mounted bracket. The Alphason works, but no where near as well as the Q Up. I periodically have to adjust the Aphason because the clip moved when I released it from the bracket. I have never adjusted the Q Up after I first set it up over 4 years ago. This thing is rock solid. I would definitely have bought the double pack. For now I'll stick with the Alphason, but, TBH, I'll probably get annoyed with it and get a Q Up as I've recently started using the P3 a bit more after having set it in my remodeled office.

It does the job, but pricey
The media could not be loaded. Most all high end turntables are manual operation meaning you must lower the stylus onto the record by hand. You also have to physically lift it off the record when the record has ended and the stylus is in the run out groove. Not lifting the stylus when the record is over results in clicks and undue wear on the stylus. Any stylus has a limited lifetime before performance decreases and the better ones can be expensive. This small plastic gadget can be positioned and adjusted to automatically lift the tonearm and stylus off the record’s surface when the stylus is in the run out grove. It’s small and relatively easy to position and adjust for the desired activation point and lifting force. And it works as advertised! The main body comes with several extension blocks to best accommodate various platter heights. Included 3M double sided tape pieces allow for easy and secure use of one or more of these blocks. My unit did not come with any instructions or documentation but the website had all you need with easy to understand pictorial instructions. You will need to reset the triggering mechanism before each play but that is quick and easy to do. This is pretty pricey for what you get but believe it or not there are other similar devices at several times the price of this one. This works reliably and helps prolong the life of your expensive stylus. So overall I recommend this, especially for the audiophile with a good turntable.

Works well, looks ok
I am giving this five stars because it does exactly what I needed it to do and the price was right (got mine for $35). On the plus side it works exactly as advertised and it raises my tone arm gently enough (not sure what's up with the folks who say it catapults their tone arm up with force, mine does not and the force is adjustable anyway). On the minus side, its not the prettiest and I'd prefer it not to have the logo on it but its the same color as the other hardware on my Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Esprit and so it kind of blends in. The build quality does not feel premium but once it's installed it kind of disappears and you hardly notice, and I think the build quality is sufficient for the life of my turntable. Overall, a solid product. Honestly I was on the fence when I bought it and thought of getting one of the competing products at $150-$250 range just because they looked nicer, but in the end this works flawlessly and blends in well enough so I'm going to keep it.

Don't ever try this on expensive cart. Not worth even to try...
This is not meant for moderate to expensive cartridges that are light weight. This simply cannot handle light weight tonearms/carts. First time ever I did not have to spend a lot of time to figure out it doesn't work. It just shoots up the tonearm even at an extremely low levels that cartridge will be damaged. I tried three times and all the three times it couldn't hold tonearm well, total failure, jumped and dropped the cart. Lucky could save a $10K cart before it completely goes usesless trying this product.Good learning!!! Happy with manual operation! Will never ever take this product even if it comes for free.

Gets the job done, but cheaply made
Like the title says, it definitely gets the job done of lifting the tone arm once’s the record is done; but it is just so cheaply made..especially for 50$ is outrageous. Over priced af. I’m going to keep mine because I don’t want the return bs hassle, but If I was to do it again I would go with a different product. While it looks aesthetically pleasing on my player, just knowing that it probably cost 2$ to make leaves a sour taste in the mouth. Seriously.. you can feel how cheap this thing is….
