Style:Angelus  |  Color:Abaco Green Crafted with a solid Sitka Spruce top and Quilted Maple back and sides, the PRS SE Angelus AE55E has great tonal clarity and warmth that sits great in any mix! When matched with PRS hybrid“X”/Classical bracing, which allows the top to freely vibrate and project, the SE A55E has an uncommon 3-dimensional character for a maple back and side guitar. The Angelus Cutaway body shape delivers comfort and playability, well suited for picking and fingerstyle playing. Plugged in, the Fishman GT1 pick up system delivers dynamic, organic tone and allows players to easily take this guitar from rehearsal to the stage. This electronics system features an under saddle pickup and sound hole mounted preamp with easy-to-access volume and tone controls. Additional high-quality features include a solid spruce top, ebony fretboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, as well as PRS trademark bird inlays and headstock design. All PRS SE acoustics ship with a high-quality hard-shell case.

Not Really a PRS
Amazon product video says, "This is Bryan Ewald at the PRS factory in Maryland," but the headstock reads, "Built by Cor-Tek Musical Instrument Co., LTD, China under exclusive license for PRS Guitars." You are being asked to pay double the price of comparable Chinese guitars while being misled by a statement that seems to imply that the guitar is made in USA by PRS, when it isn't even PRS who makes it!Twenty-six years ago, I owned a PRS custom that was actually made in Maryland by PRS and there is absolutely no comparison. It's regrettable when a legendary company reaches the bait-and-switch phase of its lifespan. It seems as though PRS has become merely a brand name meant to associate a distal product with a meritoriously earned reputation.Ignoring the misleading marketing, the instrument looks gorgeous, but sounds disappointing. The midrange sticks out quite a bit, and the bass and treble are weak. A Luna High Tide Grand Concert is much more balanced and powerful sounding at half the price, although it does not look nearly as pretty, and does not feel as nice because the satin finish is not as smooth as this guitar's high-gloss finish.

A must have.
Best guitar I have owned and I’ve had a lot of them. Very versatile for finger style, rock, country and everything in between. Love it. PRS knocked it out of the park with this one. Phenomenal looks also. Very “clean”

Very Nice Guitar
I'm 63 and played over 40 years. Sorry Amazon I didn't buy it here , too expensive not to have communication with a seller. If I could afford a 5k and up acoustic I'd consider it , but IMO it's not necessary when it comes to acoustics.. There's a range of tones from all the different brands when it comes to acoustics due to wood and build. It's a subjective subject. Being a maple bodied guitar it's focus is mid to high range but still has a nice low end balance. I knew this when I purchased. I have 2 low end oriented acoustics already. Amazing how the harder you hit the strings the louder it gets. Doesn't seem to have a ceiling. It's very smooth sounding with a real sparkle to the high e. The neck feels like home. It's set up right out of the case and was easy to play from the get go. 2.3mm at the 12th. Lots of bling but certainly not over the top imo. I happen to like bling. Only downside is the laminate back and sides and the plastic bridge pins. I for one am guilty of being a wood snob but all the demo's I watched, and now playing and hearing at home have kinda changed my mind a little. The laminates are at least a high grade of pure maple and from what I read it's maple-mahogany-maple laminate. PRS acoustics are built with a different theory with a looser soundboard (hybrid bracing) referred to as the speaker with stiffer sides and back considered the cabinet. I'm assuming this one reason for the loudness. So there's some trade off going on here at this price point. Your just not going to find a new top brand PRS-Taylor-Martin under 12-1300 that doesn't use a laminate. But remember resale ! It's so much easier with minimal loss selling a top brand like PRS-martin-taylor. It would have been nice if PRS used a AA spruce top, but I don't think there would have been an audible difference in tone , but that did cost them a star. I personally could have lived without the electronics but they don't sell these without them. It's a decent middle of the road pickup though. A trade off to hit the price point. I prefer a mic but it nice to have for the sake of diversity. It's a beautiful guitar that sound good and I'm happy with the purchase. I like the fact that they are limited and PRS doesn't flood the market. PRS nailed the price point with a good looking acoustic that is nicer than the Taylor -Martins in this price area. But then again it's all subjective ....

Excellent guitar for a good price.
Wow playability is excellent. One little truss rod adjustment and I was off to the races. It does lack a little in the low end, but makes up for it in clarity and high end and it’s also an electric, so you can add low end with your amplification. I have a Martin performing artist and this guitar is every bit as fun to play. I didn’t buy it from Amazon, so you won’t see “verified purchase”.
