Pleasant Hearth Amherst Fireplace Screen

I purchased this for a masonry wood burning fireplace that I have installed a vent free gas log set in. It is extremely well made and looks much nicer than I expected it to be for the money. It does not open (says that in the specs!) but I prefer that since my gas log set is controlled outside the fireplace. The finish is flawless and is exactly as listed. It is not flat black like a wood burning stove it is an iron black and well done with no missed areas on mine. All in all exceeded my expectations at this price point.

I wanted a fireplace screen to dress up the hearth area. This screen is a great value at $100. I found it to be pretty sturdy, too--I think it looks great. The feet have to be put on but the product identification of parts not only names them but provides images to ensure you use the right bits in the right places. Super happy with this

Easy to assemble, used sticky felt "feet" on the front legs to get the exact contact with the top of screen to top of opening. (hearth isn't flat or perfectly level). Having looked at a lot of screens here, this one was as described and a bargain. No issues with packaging or quality and the look is a very flat black, (almost on the gray side, but most wrought iron and blackened metals are not glossy black) which is as expected. One enhancement would be to make some sort of handles available so that it can easily be pulled forward for adding wood or removing to clean, but I'm sure there's a easy solution in any hardware aisle...

As others have mentioned, there is a little bit of bending on the front bars / the back screen. However, once it's in place, it's not at all noticeable. I love that it has adjustable back feet too. This was one of the only screens I could find with adjustable feet to fit flush against my small fireplace. Really happy with this purchase.Update: received 2nd screen for my other fireplace. This one was much more damaged. Also missing the screws to hold the feet in place.

Very pretty and very sturdy. We bought it to keep the cats out of the fireplace and this one is too heavy for them to move but sturdy enough that I’m not afraid of it falling over when they try.

From a distance the item looks nice. a closer look shows shoddy craftsmanship.Using rear legs on the screen will not allow screen to set flush against the fireplace. It rocks forward and is off balance. I do not recommend this item and if I had to do it again, I would pass this one by.

I love this fireplace screen. The simple design adds a modern feel to my vintage home. It’s very well made and was super easy to put together.

Easy to assemble. Looks ok, but not as nice as in the pictures. I stupidly assumed it opened but didn't realize that without handles it obviously wouldn't.Biggest issue is it arrived damaged. Hard to take pictures of it, but there are dents in the screen on the left and right sides of it. It's not super noticeable, but you can tell. And it's not cheap enough to not care about the damage.It also doesn't sit flat on my fireplace. I can't tell if my fireplace isn't level or if the design of the feet causes it. Just an annoyance that I'll have to find a way to level it out. If I don't return for the damage.Without the damage this is more likely to be 4 stars.
