X-Chair X1 High End Task Chair, Grey Flex Mesh with Headrest - Ergonomic Office Seat/Dynamic Variable Lumbar Support/Highly Adjustable/Relaxed Recline/Perfect for Office or Home Desk

I went from a Herman Miller Aeron to the X-Chair X1 with a headrest. I have been having issues sitting in the Aeron causing back pain, and I found that with the correct adjustments that the Aeron didn't have, the X-Chair fit me great! Also, my back pain has diminished. The one nagging issue I found was the adjustment for the height of the back of the chair. The back of the chair is on a slide that you simply raise to the top to release and lower it. The problem is that the back won't lock at the top, so you don't have the full length of adjustments available to you. I use the next to top height, and find that if I inadvertently lower the chair, I have to play with it to find the right location to lock it in again. My cat has figured out how to lower the chair back as well, so I'm always adjusting it first thing in the morning.

The most reliable company to buy from.

I love almost everything about this chair, EXCEPT the arm rests, which measure only 21" between them and are NOT adjustable. They are also poorly labeled. The instructions give NO CLUE as to which is the right or the left -- the diagram in the instructions is useless. If you have a magnifying glass or patience, you can actually find an "L" and an "R" in small thin type on the underside facing the front of the seat. This is nowhere mentioned in the instructions. I also find the arm rests too hard -- I would appreciate better padding. I was going to return the chair but one of the "customer experience" reps suggested I try the 360 arm rests, and gave me a code for 10% off. (By the way, when you call customer support you have to select "customer experience" -- whatever the hell that means -- to get the right person.) So, I ordered them for $140 with the discount. These are much better because they allow the arm to swing out away from the body and provide the spacing I need. However, these are NOT marked with "L" or "R" and again, the instructions are totally useless to distinguish right from left. I'm sorry, but this is inexcusable in a chair of this price.On the plus side, the chair is very comfortable and alleviated the back pain caused by my previous chair.I hope this three-star review will get someone's attention at X-Chair so they can engineer their standard arm rests to slide outward to widen or narrow the distance between arms. This is almost trivial to accomplish and really should be a standard feature in a high end chair. Their hard armrests also SUCK. Until they correct these things, I cannot recommend this chair for the price.Update 4/29/2024: bolts keep falling out from the bottom of my chair (three times now) and they are are hassle to reinstall. I've ordered some Red Loctite because the Blue Loctite the company put on the bolts doesn't keep them in the chair. I've also had poor satisfaction discussing this with corporate. I also forgot to mention that the adjustable tension is WAY TOO WEAK to support anyone but a midget. I've had to lock the chair in place to keep it from bending over backwards. For all these reasons, I'm lowering my recommendation to 2 stars. My advice is that you find another chair. The people at X-Chair are tone deaf and have yet to address a single one of my complaints.

Not much to say - I broke my previous chair of a different brand. A wheel literally broke off. So I did a little research and asked around and found that this chair was pretty well-liked.Longevity will not be known for quite a while, but it is easily more solidly built than my previous chair, and all the functions work well. It rolls much more nicely on my chair mat, and changing the back angle or height is a breeze.

The chair looks nice and it wasn’t hard to assemble.I found it extremely uncomfortable. The tension on the back rest is too low even at the highest setting. Lean back a little and it fully reclines. The height of the back and lumbar support is adjustable but it doesn’t lock. Constantly having to adjust the height as I get up and sit down again.Contacted the manufacturer via email, they told me to return it to Amazon. Taking it apart and having to put it back in the original box.

The chair is very comfortable and it was very easy to assemble.It provides great back support and it keeps my bottom cool since it is a mesh chair.Overall very happy with my purchase.

This chair are is very comfortable and sturdy. The only regret I have is that I should gone with the leather. I will definitely purchase another one.
