I havent' tested this under duress yet, but all the functions work well enough. I like the sound quality, though that seems odd to say as it's not hi-fi, it's old-school transistor radio sounding. Which is why I like it. I like the semi-gummy red finish, though I wonder how that will work out in a dirty environment or over the long term. It's probably averse to most chemicals like kerosene but I dont' want to test that just yet. Pretty sure this is made to be pampered to some extent, though it doesnt' feel "cheapo". I do like the old-school analog controls, and the way the power on/off is also the volume control. On the down side, the dial is pretty useless if you are trying to figure out the precise frequency you are tuning to. I just tune it by Kentucky windage and seems to work ok. The weather band radio isn't quite as nice as my other more expensive disaster radio, but that one is over double the size and price so that's not a "con" really. I have not tried the solar charge yet, I suspect it's like most solar charging at this price point - somewhat of a gimmick (direct sunlight all day or nothing really happens), but I'll come back and update this once I have a chance to test it.

Don't know about durability yet but this works really well. Battery charges and lasts way longer than instructions state. Maybe five to ten seconds of cranks & the light and radio lasted through our nearly 2 hour power outage and was still going. Still had power when I turned it on a couple of weeks later. Light is very good and reception and sound quality on the radio are amazing, especially for such a small radio. My expensive hand crank radio that hadn't been used for 10 years or more, because we don't get many power outages, broke when I tried to crank it up, so I got this and a large one to have available the next time I need them. My only concern is they say to use them once a month, but I want to be able to just put it away and forget about it until I need it, which could be years. I'm not sure what that will do to the battery.

Me and this little thing have already gone on a few adventures. It holds a charge well when not used or charged for a month or two and gives me two days of music at a lower volume on a single charge. I have found that the battery life is directly related to how loud it is.The fact that it is held together with screws and has a replaceable battery is a good sign. This may last a long time to come. I am sure the solar and crank will give a slight charge, but that’s not what I was really looking for. I was wanting something chargeable and portable for outdoor activities and this turned into something that I grab when I am working in the shed or just want some background tunes in the kitchen.Very portable, very durable, cleans up well (yes, camping can be a dirty hobby), and is just fun to own

First, I've used mine several times. This is an emergency preparedness no-brainer--a very big bang for the (twenty) bucks. Buy now because this palm-sized unit is portable, well-made, rugged and will stand up to the rigors during and after a big storm, a camping trip, or stowed in a motor vehicle.It may well become the focus of the family or group for light, local news, a renewable battery bank and even entertainment on the AM/FM bands, and of course real-time weather information on the NOAA bands. I know how bad a dead cell phone, darkness and fear of the unknown can get; don' go without these essentials.Just buy it. Don't mess around and miss this one!!FYI, iRonsnow is constantly upgrading their line of emergency radios and more & more, I've come to trust his brand & seller.

As a California resident, the next natural/man made disaster is only a matter of time. I've always had a good array of emergency equipment on hand, but decided to upgrade to the latest radio, led light, battery bank. Radio is surprisingly good. USB connectors and cell phone power bank are handy. I've never really put the solar panel to the test.Although this device is far from a total answer to being prepared for the 'big one', it's a cost effective good start.

Just purchased this radio in case of blackouts. The first one delivered did not have a working radio. The flash light worked great right out of the box. But after 5 mins of cranking and 15 mins of plugging it in, the radio was not working at all. There were two LEDs showing charge.I returned it for another and the second one was fully functional out of the box. It works good so far. I can't give it five stars because the first one sent seems to be poorly made and I had to drop off the package at an Amazon location which is very inconvenient. They did send the replacement the very next day. You get what you pay for but I hope this new one lasts.

I think this is an awesome backup/utility tool.The tiny speaker produces great monotone sound, the light works good for it's size.The ability fo charge it by cranking or solor or android charger makes it an awesome backup unit.The fact that it can charge your cell phones is awesome.It has so many good features for the price that I cannot even describe them all.I gave only 4 stars for durability because only time will tell.Well satisfied and highly recommend this combination tool/radio.Darryl

The solar on mine does not work, but the crank does. It runs for three hours on a full charge. Has great sound too. I like this little guy and can carry it around with me. Probably should have returned for one that works on solar, but for the price, I'll keep it.

J'ai offert cette radio à Noel 2019. La batterie est déjà morte. Pourtant la radio n'a pas été utilisée souvent.Je trouve que la batterie aurait du avoir une durée de vie beaucoup plus longue. La batterie est daté de 2018.09.25, Ca veut dire qu'elle avait plus qu'un an quand j'ai acheté la radio.Je suis vraiment déçue.

This radio surpasses our expectations. Everything about it is right. Excellent sound, long playing time (hours and hours), versatile easy to use and it can even charge your cell phone and in a worst case scenario it does not need outside power sources because of the built in crank. Highly recommended.

A recent power outage left us "disconected" from everything. This radio would have been very handy with its multiple ways of charging, two of which does not involve electricity! Great buy and good sound.

I have tried all day to charge this unit without success. I plugged it into my computer and it started to charge but will not fully charge. As soon as I unplugged it all the charge disappeared and all functions stopped. Ill be returning it tomorrow
