My kids are 3 and 5. So this timer works so well for both of them. They know to watch the black one (3 minutes) and the red one (5minutes) it is a really good visual of time for them. It's one downside is that it's glass. But I don't them them play with it, I set it up when they are not in timeout. So it hasn't been a problem yet.

It’s a nice coffee brewing timer. I actually time it. The 4 and 5 mins are a bit off. 3 mins is about right.

I ordered this innovative sand timer as a shower"Wishing Well" gift because the bride-to-be's kitchen is black and red themed and this was just PERFECT! Received the item today and I love it. It's very chic looking... and love that it has three different timers in there... 3 min, 4 min and 5 min. It has that written with how many minutes each sand bottle holds on both top and bottom so there is no real 'top' ... or 'bottom'. It's so nice I just might have to order another for myself!

I bought this as a travel timer for my high school classroom. I am close enough to the restrooms that trips should be quick, but some people take extra time. I chose this timer because the longest time is in red sand. I tell my kids that’s the danger zone. They don’t really want me to be the wicked witch, right? It’s been great so far. Even seniors hurry back, but with good grace and humor.

I have 3 of these sand timers and like them very much. However, one compartment in one of the timers is inaccurate so I can't use it. Otherwise these are useful and fun to use.

I LOVE this!! It is so nice and great if you need a timer for cooking or any other acitvity or if you have children. I use this for time out as well and it really works well! I definitley recommend this and it makes a great gift!

I teach high school and this helps me keeps students accountable for the time they are out of my room in the restroom. When I say be back before the white runs out they typically make it. I have a penalty if they don't make it back prior to the red running out. So far none have not made it back prior to the 4 minute mark. I can see other applications as to where you can use all three times but I have not tried them yet. Seriously a fun way to keep teens accountable.
