Useful with some oddities
I purchased this keyboard and case after reading all the revièws that were on Amazon at the time. I took all into consideration and decided to purchase it.The case is nice and compact. It is not leather, but is a very good imitation of it. You definitely need to charge it in order for it to work the first time. Someòne commented that it didn't work when she received it, but never mentioned charging it first. It does couple with the Noþe 8 eaßily for the Bluetooth connection. (I am leaving the foreìgn alphabet letters here purposely as I type to make a point.) The keyboard does stay charged for a long time. The keyboard is small as most people commented. Perhaps they mention it because one doesn't think about it ahead of time, but if one does think about it, it would have to be because the Note 8 is small. The absence of the mouse is something one should consider before purchasing the case keyboard. However, I reasoned that because the Note is a touch screen it would be no problem. Although I find myself reaching for the mouse now and then, it is easy to use the screen. It would be nice to have a mouse, but it is not necessary with the arrow keyß combined with the touch screen.I did not get directions other than the coupling of the keyboàrd to the Note 8. I have problems with the function keys to some extent. Many of them on the number keys are difficult to figure out as to their meaning, or what they are actually showing--in particular the pictures to the functions on keys 4, 5, 6,& 7. I also think the functìon control should not be the kèy control that determines if one uses the `, ' or ". This definitely stops the flow of my typing. I get frustrated when I try to use an apostrophe or write a contraction. Another function key I have not used and am not sure what it will do if anything is the one that is on the \ & | symbol. It is a blue envelope. I don't know if the envelope if struck will take me away from something like writing this and put me intò one of my èmail programs or not. I gave it a try and it just put me into one of my èmail addresses. There seems to be no control as to which òne. I assume it will be consistent though. This typing issue, and the hanging there until the foreign letter is typed and typing it causes issues when signing into websites, etc.You can paste material you have selected using the Android selection process. Not having a mouse pad, you can't select things as far as I know using the keyboard. It seems impossible to "undo" something using control z. I find this frustrating also.Size is a consideration for quick typing, but I have mastered that quickly. My biggest issue with the kèyboard/case, as you may have guessed by now is that I will be typing along rather nicely and rapidly, or even slowly, and a band of foreign letters appears. If I touch the screen and choose one of the letters it would fit the foreign word I am typing., but I am not typing in another language The first letter has an orange red shading over it and I guess touching another will choose another variation of that letter. However, I am typing in English with no foreign words. If I wanted to use my French, I would not know how to get the foreign letters to appear for me. When the band of foreign letters does appear my fingers continue to type but nothing happens. I have to stop and try various things to get everything to work. Ußually I hit the space bar and then the back space in order to get rid of what ever shows up. Here, in this review I have continued to type. The keyboard and the text appear to hang still before I can type something else. For example, in the last case for the word usually I typed the s and it appeared as an s, then the band of foŕeign letters showed up. As the keyboard didn't work I watched the Greek letter Beta take the place of the s. I have no idea why this happens. It has worked this way since the first day I used it. No one else has mentioned this, so I assume they either cope with it, or it does not happen tò them when they type. I can stop and fix the letters if I choose to do so, but it really does create an unexpected situation. If I type the word Francaise which should have a cedille below the c, it does not automatically show up. In fact the word cedille needs an accent grave over the e and I do not know how to make those letterß. Sometimes if I hold a key down for a while the bar will show up as when I hold the o down I see a bar with the letters ò ó ô õ ö ő ae . If I could control it, would be a very neat function. I assume it has to do with length of time a key is held down, but it does not necessarily work that way or function consistently for me.The box has no brand name written on it, nor does the case, so researching it may be difficult for a user manual, so to speak. A ßèarch for Photonic Bluetooth Keyboard Tablet Stand Leather Case for Samsung Galaxy Note only lèads to places to buy it or reviews on it.I hope to get used to my situation so I may use this keyboard to its full capacity.

BT Keyboard Tablet Leather Case for SGN8
This review is for the Bluetooth Keyboard Leather Case for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 (SGN8)I bought this product along with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 (unlocked international) at the same time.Beware you will have to charge the keyboard itself in order for it to work! It comes with its own USB charger.I ordered this from CrazyOnDigital and I don't remember the exact date but it was a Friday and the anticipated delivery date was to be by the end of the following week, however it did not arrive until the Wednesday of the week after. While although it was mere days for me to receive this product I would liked to have had it when I received my SGN8 since I received my SGN8 within 2 days even though the anticipated delivery date was 14-16 days after the order! With my SGN in hand I didn't have a case for it thinking that I would receive this case within a few days but alas that did not happen. This however does not detract from the great service that CrazyOnDigital provided me.The product itself is very good and it's probably the best case that has keyboard capabilities specifically for the Note 8. Setup was very easy as all you need to do is turn on the BT switch and the blue light will turn on (assuming it is charged). Next go to the dropdown configuration menu on the SGN (where you can turn on Wifi, BT, Screen Rotation, etc) and select Bluetooth. The SGN will scan for all BT units in the proximity and it should be able to detect your keyboard. Once it's done scanning, select the device and it will automatically connect and bam you got yourself a workable keyboard. The layout of the keyboard is ok though, the keys are a tad small (it is designed for an 8" tablet though) and spaced but there are two things that really irk me, one of which is by no fault by the manufacturer of this product. Because I have used laptops for quite a few years I am used to the touchpad; this keyboard does not have a touchpad thus I find myself fiddling around the keyboard thinking there is a touchpad when there isn't one! What really bothers me is the size of the SHIFT and ENTER keys. On the right side of the keyboard the SHIFT key is right below the ENTER key however the ENTER key is much smaller than the SHIFT key. I wish the manufacturer could have increased the size of the ENTER key and/or decreased the size of the right SHIFT key so that I do not keep hitting the '/" key.The stand is pretty sturdy and it's awesome when you want to watch media or are working on a project it props up like a laptop which is much easier to stroke in the characters via the keyboard than with the Android/Samsung virtual keyboard that comes with the SGN. The case itself is leather and it's pretty decent (not high end) and it protects the unit very well. It is not as flexible as other cases but it does seem more sturdy so for those who like to put their tablets in bags/purses/etc then this is probably a better choice.

It's nice and well made.
The leather case is very well made, when I got it the leather really stood out to me. It has a nice textured feel to it and makes your Note 8 look luxurious as you carry it. The keyboard for me worked really well and was very easy to install. You just got to turn it on and push the sync button and my Note 8 picked it up right away. The case itself for the Note 8 also was a nice fit. It is nice and snug and I feel like it will stay like that over time. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 stars is because the keyboard can touch the screen of your Note 8 and could theoretically make some scratches depending on how you handle the device when it's closed. Being a college student I have to put it in my bag a lot to transport, it can get a bit cramped with all the books and stuff I keep in there and as a result I have noticed a couple of scratches on my screen. But it's a good thing I had a screen protector on it so it is fine. The scratches aren't a catastrophic fissure that is noticeable. It's only if you have the screen off and you see light shine off the screen. As a result I now keep a microfiber cloth in between the two surfaces when I have it closed to prevent future scratches so as a reminder if you won't put something in between you could get scratches(results may vary).Overall I think it's good but the whole scratch thing is a bit annoying but if given the chance to get another case I think I would still pick this one just because of how well it is made and the look of it. Just be careful of the keyboard when you have it closed.
