could be made of better quality

Pros:1. Made of steel seems durable.2. The surface which abuts the job is machined so that it is square to the job. the flat surface is irregular in shape and can be rotated to fit different types of jobs.Cons:The guage is quite heavy compared to wooden guages since it is made of steel.2. There is noticeable play between the pin holder and the barrel. Also the marking pin is too long (more than 10mm). This acts as a lever when sliding the guage across wood and requires a lot of effort and concentration to keep it in position for marking, specially on long jobs. Both these add to inaccuracies.3. The thread on the tightening knob is coarse. Hence, it requires quite and effort to tighten the guage on to the barrel.4. The marking pin is not very sharp or hard. In fact it seems like a common wire nail. It is permanently fixed to the guage. For such a long pin there should have been a way to adjust the length. .

The media could not be loaded.  Horrible product, horrible finish, low quality material used and low quality finish.Waste of money.

It is sturdy and it is useful for working either on wood or metal. Really a wonderful tool and I am quite happy that I bought this tool.
