Lec U5010W 50cm undercounter freezer, A+ energy rating, 79ltr capacity, white [Energy Class A+]

This is a compact under-counter freezer, so it doesn't hold as much as a chest freezer, but the internal plastic drawers make the best use of the space inside, leaving no gaps, so the cold air doesn't fall out when you open the door, unlike my last freezer which had open basket drawers. The bottom drawer is only half size, naturally, because the motor and compressor have to go somewhere. The only minor problem I've found is that there is no flat surface to put the supplied (rather small) ice tray on. It isn't always easy to find a level place for it.An under-counter freezer is never going to be as spacious as a chest freezer, but if you only have a 55cm undercounter slot for it, this is a good choice. It is also very quiet, you can hardly tell when the motor is running. One other comment - it is slightly different from the photo, in that the small "Lec" logo on the door has been replaced by quite large chrome lettering, not really to my taste I would have to say, I would have preferred it as in the photo.

Wanted a small undercounted deep freeze for my elderly mother who lives on her own. Wanted nothing complicated,just plug in and go,and no room for a chest freezer so this looked to fit the bill.Came 4 days after ordering,well wrapped and protected.Left to stand for 24 hours before use,I did like the fact the plug is not sealed on,but can be removed so the cable can be routed through small holes in fitted kitchensEnough space to store more than sufficient for a person or couple on their own,folding doors on each shelf,so not much room wasted insideNo complaints,does the job as required

Compared to my old freezer it was replacing it is very small inside. My original one had 6 shelves and no elements on each shelf. But there again this was the only freezer I could find with the same outside measurements that would fit in the space.

Well protected light easy to move and casing so easy to remove and size of draws for a small freezer ideal nor to wide but deep draws excellent

This was ordered to replace a chest freezer of the same external dimensions. Well it only holds a fraction of what the chest type does and had my wife in tears. My fault for not checking one out physically in a shop.Pros: It is probably a lot better insulated than the old ones.Cons: it has no light to tell you if it is on. It has three draws but the bottom drawer is only half size and that is where the advert misleads.This freezer is OK for left overs and very small ready meals. No good for pizzas, or whole loaves of bread or family tubs of ice cream or seasonal gluts of fruit & veg or two for the price of one offers. The tiny drawers require very careful management indeed and large loaves have to be cut in half to fit.My advice. Go and check out freezers in a shop before ordering by mail and be prepared to pay a bit more for the next size up. Wish I had.

Good service, excellent product

It was hard to find a reliable make in 50cm. My last LEC didn't let me down even after over 20 years .. Just got a little rusty at the bottom. That's why it was a no brainer to choose an LEC again. Surprising how much room in it too
