Big value proposition, bigger disappointment
I bought this product for recording airsoft gameplay footage when out at the field. Between the low price, good demo videos on YouTube and total size of the camera, it seems like an ideal fit for the task at hand.My first impressions of the product were very good. The packaging is attractive, the camera case looks and feels great, the camera sleeve in the case is nice and the array of mounts gives you quite a number of options out of the box. If you're like me and looking to mount the camera on a gun or helmet, you can use a 1" picatinny rail mount with a little padding instead of Replay's proprietary (and separate) gun mount. The first operation that I attempted with the camera was plugging it into my Windows 10 PC. The manual mentions that the camera can be accessed over USB as a mass storage device and the support site details making modifications to a file on the microSD card in order to configure the camera. Unfortunately, this is also where I encountered the first problem. The camera is not recognized by Windows 10 PCs as a USB mass storage device. I tried another computer. I tried another cable. Then I tried a third computer with both cables. None of them will recognize the unit.Undeterred, I used the included SD card adapter and configured the settings on a laptop. I recorded a series of test videos, tweaking settings to my liking and going through the cumbersome task of removing the card and retesting. Video on 30fps 1080p mode works great in daylight, indoor light and low light. Video on 60fps 720p mode is very grainy in low light and indoor light and overall extremely disappointing. The microphone is bad under all tested conditions. I tried reducing the gain (which defaults to max) to mid and low levels, but the audio turns out poor in all cases. Voice quality is so far distorted that it is difficult to understand when there is only a single person talking directly to the camera. The microphone is also extremely susceptible to wind noise. A brisk movement indoors will reward you with a nasty wind buffet noise. Running with the camera outdoors results in loud, painful wind buffeting. The camera includes clear stickers to cover the microphone hole to reduce wind noise. They actually work surprisingly well for the task, but predictably they also increase audio distortion for all other sources. Finally, I recharged the unit and put in a 32GB microSD for a day of gameplay footage. With the unit mounted on my helmet, powered on and recording, I played a roughly 43 minute game. Afterwards, I plugged the camera into a portable 2A battery charger to recharge between games. After about 25 minutes, the unit was still charging. I remounted it and took it out again. It survived 53 more minutes or so without any issue. After reviewing the footage, I am still incredibly impressed with the video quality of the unit on 1080p. However, 30fps is NOT good enough to pick up BB trajectory from the gun. I'm still going to try the camera in 720p 60fps outdoors to see if the video problems were related to unnatural light, but I'm not holding out hope. The audio is unusable. People sound like they're talking in a tunnel.. possibly submerged in water.I have an open case with Replay XD over the USB Mass Storage issue. I think it could still warrant 3 stars if that gets fixed since the cost/value of this camera is still pretty high. I may RMA the unit to see if the 720p video and audio improve. Hopefully this isn't the intended quality level of the product.EDIT FOR REPLAY SUPPORT RESPONSE:Replay XD support got back to me on the USB Mass Storage problem:"you are able to access your files alternately by inserting the SD card directly into your computer using the provided SD card adapter, or an SDHC/XC approved card reader."It sounds like they have no intention of fixing the problem. I'm changing my product rating from two stars to one star to reflect on the company backing the product.

Awesome product. I use it for paintball vids and attach it to the removable ear piece of my Grill mask with the curved mount.Pros:- comes with plenty of mounts and strong 3m mounting tape. The tape is very strong.- The two buttons on the camera, one for power on/off and the other for start/stop recording, have vibration feed back so that you know for sure that the camera is recording or stopped based on the vibration. You don't have to visually look at the camera to be sure that it is recording or not recording.- video quality is outstandingCons:- The included 4 GB card fills up pretty quick over a days use of paintball. I upgraded to a 32 GB card.- Charging the camera to full over USB can take a while.- Wind noise can be a problem when you're running. They do provide stickers to cover the mic hole to help with that.- Non-standard battery (not AAA AA etc). I hope it holds up for a long time.- The warranty is only 180 daysUpdateCamera is still working very well after playing through a LOT of paintball. I did end up scratching the lens cover pretty bad on an old rusted bolt that was sticking out from an obstacle I was hiding behind. Ordered a pack of lens covers on amazon for pretty cheap. They are easy to replace. The only other issue is the mic hole. First off, if you're going to use this camera for paintball, cover the mic hole with something. You will get paint in there if you don't and it is hard to clean out. I used some gauze wrap to cover it up to keep the paint out. The gauze also helped with wind noise. The camera did come with stickers to cover the mic hole to help with wind noise. I found that the included stickers block out too much sound and are not very useful.

Awesome helmet cam for the money
One of the best purchases I ever made. Not only can you take video but you can also take pictures and then download them to your computer and upload the ones you want to Facebook or whatever app you are using. If you're good with programming you can change the frame rate so it will take pictures quicker then one a minute. Had mine set at 1 every 5 seconds but then changed it to one every two seconds. Seem to be not getting the pictures I really wanted. When it's turned on for pictures it will continue to take a picture every however many seconds you have programmed until you stop it. The video is excellent but tends to be extremely long to try to upload to Facebook or something like that so I find taking pictures is better then video. Again this is a programming change you have to make the computer. If you read the directions its really not hard to adjust it to take pictures and also adjust how often you wanted to take a picture. I have a 32 gig memory card in it and even though on some rides I may have 900 and something pics it is well worth the time to sort through and select the ones you want to keep. And does not even take up half the memory card. However, after each ride i download all the pictures to a folder and then delete them off the memory card.

Great things comes in small packages ... that's what she said
The Mini is a great camera. The compact size and construction makes it really easy to mount to almost anything. I use this for paintball and it consistently performs to expectations. I set the camera to use 720P/60 fps and the videos are very fluid, the image stabilizer is great, and the colors are vibrant. The setup of the camera was easy, changing the camera settings needs to be done before filming, but the actual process is easy to follow. ReplyXD's website has a very detailed guide to the different settings. My only complaint is that the battery gets used up pretty quick (1.5 - 1.75 hrs). If you are going for an all day event expect not to capture all of the action as you will have to charge it in between. In conclusion, good size, good construction, nice mounts, good images, easy setup, plan to recharge the battery for long film time.
