Works well but slightly small.
i got the Dtown hydration backpack for hiking, primarily 10-20 mike day hikes so that I could carry food/water/emergency gear in a smaller lightweight pack. I was specifically looking for one with a waist belt that wasn’t super expensive. So far the pack has worked; it came with a hydration system but I choose to use my Camelbak bladder instead (more on that later) and despite the shape difference it works fine (they are both 2L I think). The hydration bladder that came with it does have two holes in the top that correspond with two Velcro strips in the pack to hold the bladder vertical which is nice; I found they also work with the hook on my Camelbak one too.The pack has enough storage for food for the day, my emergency kit, poncho, lifestraw and guidebooks. It also has elastic shockcord in the back and a small pouch I put my phone in and it is reasonably secure w/o being zipped/snapped. The pouches on the waist belt are a nice idea but are a little small; I keep a clif bar in there or something; keys would fit or a small cell phone perhaps. I have put about 30 miles on the pack so far over two trips and it seems to be holding up just fine.My two complaints...I’m 5’7” and the pack is small on me; with the should straps almost all the way out the waist straps barely hit me at my waist. If you are taller or have a long torso it will fit high. Most of the time I ended up not using the waist strap and left that unhooked; for the weight I had in it it felt fine. Also, my Camelbak mouth piece is angled at 90 degrees so that the bite valve is not in line with the tube; this means I can simply swing it up maybe 70 degrees from where it sits on my should to drink. In the dtown one the bite valve is inline with the tube so to drink you have to turn it all the way around. Not a huge thing but annoying enough that I just use the Camelbak. Having two bladders though I have considered filling both to carry 4 liters with me for long hikes.Hope this helps. Size is really the consideration here but for the $ I’m happy with it until it wears out when I will look for something that fits better.

Nice little backpack!
I love this hydration pack! The backpack is smaller than your average-sized backpack, but it was exactly what I wanted. The backpack is lightweight and holds SO MUCH water. There is also an insulated lining around the water pack which keeps your water cooler for longer, which is a nice touch. I really like the small straps that click together near your hips, they have these small pockets on each side that zip closed that makes it super convenient to store your most-accessed items. I keep my chapstick and money clip on one side and I stuff my iphone X on the other side. The backpack is overall pretty durable, but one of the zippers on the small strap pockets I just mentioned got stuck and broke when I tried to open it up, which was pretty disappointing. Otherwise the backpack has been perfect, it is spacious enough to store my essentials while not being bulky or heavy. The smaller pocket in front has a bunch of organizational pockets within it that make storing items so simple and convenient.

A decent pack.
Quality-wise, I'm pretty satisfied with this. The water bladder works great (although water still tastes a little plasticky coming out of it after several rinses). The fit is perfect, but the straps are a little scratchy. It's fine if I'm wearing a long-sleeved shirt, but is uncomfortable if I'm wearing something sleeveless. I love the front pocket but wish it had some on the sides. It has a little zippered pouch on the belt portion, but they wind up being behind me even when the belt is clipped, so they don't offer easy access to the contents while I'm wearing the pack. For the price, it's definitely getting the job done, but I'll likely upgrade to something better eventually.

roomy
This backpack has so much room! I was able to fit maps, a small pocketbook, six cliff bars, an external phone charger, and camera film in it, with room to spare. It's comfortable and the side pockets for your keys/cash are so handy too. I really liked the design of the mouthpiece, but unfortunately it broke off after one use. But I was able to fit two large water bottles (30 and 40 oz capacity) inside and take those hiking instead.I contacted the seller about it and they responded within 12 hours, offering to send me a backpack that amazon had marked as defective, but might have a working bladder. I will update with what happens. So far I am really pleased with the backpack, and the excellent customer service definitely makes up for the broken bladder.

Lots of storage! Bladder tube could be better...
Overall, I really like this bag. There's plenty of great storage space for my personals, bike repair gear, and I especially like the zipper pockets on the wait buckle for snacks on the go. The water capacity is just right for me, though some may want more for longer walks or rides. My biggest issues are the Velcro straps for securing the bladder in the bag. The Velcro is strong, but the little straps are awkward in size and placement. A bigger issue is the tubing. There is no valve where the tube connects to the bladder. The tube screws on, which is awkward, and there's no cut-off valve to keep water from exiting the bladder if the tube is not connected. Meaning I cannot disconnect the tube while filling the bag. If the tube is not connected, the water just flows out of the tube connection. My husband has a different brand bag with a quick-release cut-off valve in the bladder so he can disconnect his tube easily (no screwing and unscrewing) and you can fill the bag without the tube connected. Otherwise, it's a great bag.

Surprisingly light...optimistic on the long term durability
I bought this as a replacement for a minimalist backpack (Mcgregor Diablo) that is no longer in production and lasted for 1000s of miles of trail running and hiking. I’ve put about 100 miles in this one and I’m optimistic. Zippers look sketchy but I see no signs of jamming or corrosion/verdigris, so 5 stars for now. The lining of the main compartment has some kind of foil insulation that might be a problem against a runner’s back in the summer, but I’ll deal with it. I didn’t purchase it for the camel back functionality, but I tested the valve and it seemed adequate. No road testing though.
