Solid abum.
I bought it for "Sun and Steel" which is a fabulous.... I'll update this later.----------------------------------------------------------------------Ok... Here it is my review on Oct 31:Like another guest said before, do not expect another 17 min song here. This is `another rock album' that deserves recognition. Why? Here it is:1.Sun and Steel : This song is as good an `entrance-song' as Hello Hooray from Alice Cooper, if you kown I mean. It is like a `Welcome to the Sun and a Steel album' you are about to enjoy. It needed a higher climax, but it is ok. Organ, piano and all. Nice riff.2.Lightting: Sorry for the comparision again to my all-time favorute album (Billion Dollar Babies by A.C.), but this one comes perfect, like `Cold n Freexing". Great solos !3.Beyond the Milky Way: Piano? Ok... Lovely ballad. Is this a duet? Don't know, but it is lovely. (Now, gone with BDB comparision )4.Free: The needed rock song, in the right place. An `Edgar-Winter song with a sax solo and a `Rick Wakeman' mini solo for added bonus" (well, not in that order).5.Scion: Heavy (pun achived!) to close side 1. I know, derivative.. but nice (Deep Purple anyone?)6.Get It Out: Opening Side Two: Synthetizers! Nice. And Congas! Well... Vocals rescue it. It reminds me of... It is 1975 !! Another nice song.7.I'm Right, I'm Wrong: The second song of the second side I always look forward. It could be anything (like ` Generation Landslide, or Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting), here it comes : "Sweet Emotion"... errr, sorry.... , this is more like ... Tomita? Vangelis? No! It is an Flying Soucer departure (Close Encounters?). Dramatic vocals , nice original melody. Nice song. And more Wakeman'solo. Nice.8.Watch The World Go By: Please, let this ballad grow on you. Believe me. It is beautiful. It seals this album as worthy. At least, imagine it as the end-song scene in an sci-fy catastrophy movie. Listen to the mellotron and let your soul pick it up.9.Scorching Beauty: Is this related to the previous album (that I have yet to hear?). Don't know, but it brings you `back to Earth'. At least, to 70's Earth. Simple a Blues-Jazz-Rock song. Nice.Thank You.

Great service in excellent condition, but poor product.
The CD provided by the vendor was new and in great condition and delivered promptly. Thank you. Sadly, many of the reviews about the 1975 version of a reformed Iron Butterfly are spot-on. The so-called vocals are indescribably awful - as bad as anybody and a far cry from the 1970-71 Ingle/Pinera/Rinehart/Dorman/Bushey version of the Butterfly when they were at their absolute peak. Stick to the amazing 1970 album Metamorphosis produced by Richard Podolor. Still one of the best releases of the 70's (or any decade) along with his work the same year on Steppenwolf 7. Both are killer and timeless.

A mixed performance
These two albums, remastered on one CD, were recorded in the mid-1970s after the band's initial dissolution. The new incarnation included Erik Brann (guitar) and Ron Bushy (drums) from the earlier lineup, with new personnel on bass and keyboards. Unfortunately, Scorching Beauty (1975) largely doomed this band's attempt at a comeback. The album was undercut by weak vocals, lackluster songwriting and mediocre playing. By comparison, Sun and Steel (1976) was not bad at all, and marked a major change in direction. It featured dense instrumental arrangements, with multiple keyboard overdubs, and occasional orchestrations. The songs were much more progressive than anything the Iron Butterfly had previously attempted. Sun and Steel should have been more successful, but in the wake of the previous album, it failed to chart.

Good to have for me.
I had these albums in the original issue singned by Bushe, somehow over the years all my old albums disappeared and I hadn't heard these two albums anywhere in many years, so finding them on CD was great, a couple of my favorite unusual albums.

Psychedelic Deal
Not the butterfly's best effort, but good ol fashion nostalgic music. And a hell of a deal at 2 LP's on one disk

I was expecting more like the first several albums and was surprised that it was much more mellow. What a shame.

FINAL ALGO MEDIOCRE
LOS DOS ULTIMOS DISCOS DE LA BANDA NO AÑADEN NADA, SALVO ALGUNOS TEMAS, A SU GLORIOSA CARRERA. NO ESTAN MAL EJECUTADOS, PERO SE PIERDEN SIN PENA NI GLORIA EN LA MIRIADA DE BANDAS DE SU ÉPOCA. CURIOSIDAD PARA COLECCIONISTAS....
