However, the remotes require AA and AAA batteries, which aren’t included. While my son liked the car’s performance, he found the gesture controller a bit unresponsive, so he mostly used the regular remote for smoother control. The car’s speed is moderate—not too fast, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor play.Overall, this RC car is packed with fun features like lights, music, and easy transformations. As a parent, I love the fact you can turn off the sounds. It’s a fantastic choice for anyone who enjoys remote control toys, providing tons of playtime with convenient rechargeable batteries!

Firstly I'll say I am not basing my review on comparison of this remote control car with more expensive ones. With that said I can't imagine expecting more from a toy priced at under forty bucks.__Lots of movement options make this car even more fun than one which simply goes forward or backward without the ability to move up and down independently__The wheels are operational in a way that the user can make the car drives over good sized "bumps in the road" SMILES__The set up is pretty straight forward with clear directions in the user manual__NOTE: Although there are two rechargeable batteries and a charger which plugs into a charger brick, you will also need TWO AA batteries for the hand held remote and then an additional TWO AAA batteries to place into the hand controller. I do wish those four batteries came with the car because it would quite disappointing if this were a present only to find those batteries had not yet been purchased. SIGH__The color is gender neutral since it is a black body with aqua and purple designs on it. The wheels are black and have orange sections to them which make the tires look brown when they are spinning__I do wish there was an option to lower the volume of the music. It is quite loud. There are three different music sounds plus silent. Thankfully, there is a silent option. SMILES__Kids just seem to have a sixth sense for being able to use electronic devices instinctively, but the age given of 6-8 and then 9, 10, 11, 12 is subjective. Using the handheld remote is much easier than the hand controller__There is also the capability to add water, though I did not even try that because I wanted to avoid problems the water may bring__BOTTOM LINE: I am pleasantly surprised by the options and performance of this car and would surely choose it again
