🎉 PlayStation: Where Legends Are Born!
The PlayStation Console, developed by Sony and launched in Europe in September 1995, revolutionized gaming by becoming the first console to sell over 100 million units globally. It introduced iconic franchises such as Gran Turismo, Tekken, and Grand Theft Auto, while also offering audio CD playback features. The console was later redesigned into the more compact PSone in 2000, solidifying its place in gaming history.

nostalgia in a freakin box!
title day it all, this thing is awesome, yes its laughable by todays standards but who cares? In this day and age a phone that came out last year is considered laughable! This holds so many memories for so many people and for a lot of people this was their first game system. Resident evil, crash bandicoot, silent hill, tekken, grand theft auto, thats just a tiny amount of todays big franchises that started out on ps1. And many people will say the games were better back then, yea their a lot uglier than games today, but the gameplay was there. There was no such thing as dlc, two hour long system updates, there were no patches so developers had to work extra hard to make sure there were no glitches bugs or crashes. Not like today when they release half the game for full price and charge you extra for the rest as 'dlc' or reslease a half finished game then weeks later release a patch for it. Gaming industrys gone down the toilet if you ask me, yea its still going and admittly the newer systems are pretty good when they work correctly. However this will always be the most special to me, it still sits in my entertainment center plugged in above my ps4 which barely gets used. I understand no ones gunna buy this as their main game system now, but still give it a try. Just put down the headsets and wireless controllers, plug this in, pop a disc in and take a trip down memory lane, just for old times sake ;)

Better than ever really
Firstly, I'll try to offer a review thats written in good english..Its amazing to think that for over 10 years, this thing has been stuck in my bedroom, and connected to my portable t.v. Why? Quite simply, because it offers the gameplay, the imagination, and offers "fun" in games that modern games and consoles totally lack.On a personal note, the Playstation offers me a route back to the 90's. I was still a kid back then, and i'll always say they were the best years of my life more hundreds of reasons. My Playsation is always their for me if I just want a bit of escapism from the modern world!First game I played? The classic Crash Bandicoot, and I was hooked ever since. The colourful surroundings and humour surrounding the game was just start of an era for myself, and friends who got one when the console/game came out. And since then, nothing has changed. I still play on my original Playstation with mates, and we have such a laugh and a good time. You just cant do this with modern consoles (apart from the Wii). Instead, companies battle out to produce the best graphics, and forget about the most important thing that made this console popular - gameplay. For anyone who's never see/held/played on the original Playstation (no doubt their are people, thats why i'm writing the review), its approx the size of 2 and half DVD cases together, and the thickness of a good sized novel/book. Indeed, with its rather dirty looking grey colour, its not much to look at, but I think this reflects the era it was made in, because this was the Playstations signature colour - a brushed metal look. I'm a real 90's person, and whenever I glance at it, It brings back so many memories, many of staring into the Blockbuster video shop window and seeing the Playstation box, as everywhere was mad about it at the time.Technically, the loading times are average, but the thing i've noticed over the years most is the Memory Card loading/saving times, which now seem so, so slow. The graphics are obviously now dated. At just 32 bit, they're blocky, but who cares? Even as time went on the graphics imprived immensely! But I dont care anymore. And I dont think I ever did - I was too busy having fin! I think these dated graphics add character to the games/console very much, in a way the Nintendo 64 can't, because the 64bit chip offered such perfect polygons. If people come out with "it keeps crashing, therfore its rubbish" crap, then what they don't realise is that the console will actually crash more now than it did in 1994! This is because of a design fault - their is no fan. Over the 12 years the console has survived, the plastic strut that holds the laser head in a horizontal position warps with the heat, and this causes the laser to move out of alignment... thus it crashes because it can't read the disc properly. One common fix everyone I know we used to do was to tilt the console on its side, but not all consoles have become this bad.. so I hope that clears up a few mindless opinions. In fact I remember being at my friends one day, and to play "Tenchu", we had to stack it with just the right number of books! Incredible. So, why is it better than ever? Simply because of the state of games today, where companies rely on the graphics to sell the games. But I dont remember 'Pong' being a big hit for just 2 white squares, a dot and a line. Worth getting? Everytime! The Playstation is timeless. I'm fed up of people saying ridiculous things like "Its not powerful enough!" or "Its got rubbish". People forget this was made in 1994 - not 2007! This is far better than any of the next gen consoles I've owned simply because of the things that made gaming worth while - cheap games, simple controls, great multi-players, and most importantly, fantastic gameplay! In fact, you'd be stupid not to buy it at these prices! Unless you find one in a charity shop for a couple quid like I've seen hundreds of times....

Good System. But not without some flaws…
When my PS1 arrived, let’s just say the box had seen better days. Firstly, the seller must’ve had an obsession with sticky tape. Secondly, The box looked like somebody dropped a freezer from a 4 story building. Anyway, The console itself look good aside from some dirt on the bottom. But the major flaw was that The Console DIDNT come with controllers (as of now. Theyre coming on Monday, hopefully), Hell. Not even a memory card! But then again that’s asking for a bit much. I had to improvise and use my PS2 controller on it to function the games. So yeah. If you’re looking for a childhood system, I recommend it. But probably get it in much better quality. (I was born in 05 so I never experienced it until now.)

Wouldn't play games.
It wouldn't read any of my discs. The main menu only had two options regardless of which game was inserted: "Memory card" and "CD player". Also the controller was either extremely slow to respond to button presses or completely unresponsive. I had to return it the next day and get a refund. It's a shame because the console looked in very good condition.

Game disc stopped spinning and wouldn't run. Just said CD player and memory Card
The media could not be loaded. It's great and it works, but it won't play the game I put in. I don't know if it is the game or the lense or reader. One of the controllers had chocolate on them. Other then that it's perfect and connects ok
