I've tried out probably a dozen of these different "play2video" car adapters, primarily because I wanted to see if they were all the exact same components just in a different package. As you can probably imagine, that is pretty much the case.I cracked open the case on this unit and it has the same main board as most of the other play2video units that I have tried out, it's just in a different color case and has a different brand name on the box. Most of the other units came in an identical generic black box. Only the Ottocast has a specific branded box, but even that unit uses the same main board.As far as function goes, this unit boots to the same screen in the same amount of time and connects via bluetooth before handing off to a wifi connection just like the others (as one would expect from the same electronics) .Performance is the same as well, audio (especially dialogue) is a tiny bit behind video on playback. Music sounds good and other apps like Apple maps and Waze perform just as well as with a wired connection.My primary learning here is to go with the absolute cheapest one of these you can find as they are all pretty much the same.

Screen transitions were smooth and quick，and can download my favorite apps. Great for road trips. This was the best purchase I have made in a while and I am very happy with it.

The box looks great, connects very quickly and automatically connects every time I get in the car. The sound quality is great, no lag. Connects automatically every time I get in the car. The video option is great, obviously don't watch videos while driving but the kids love watching YouTube shorts.
