Mikes Diving NEOPRENE wetsuit SOCKS For use with boots dive surf sailing etc

OK the manufacturers will hate this review because I destroyed their product but with purpose. Most modern walking boots are mid-height and they all (at least all I have tried) press painfully on my fibula about an inch above my ankle and cause pressure sores. I have tried various solutions with no success. Ankle protection strappings stop too low on the leg. Hitherto the best solution I found was wrapping strips of craft foam round my legs but it would work upwards out of the boots. On a whim I decided to buy these socks. When I got them it was, as I expected, impossible to wear them inside my boots so I did, as I had intended before purchase, cut away the foot section. Now I can pull the leg section on over my walking socks, put my boots on with care to ensure the neoprene legging doesn't ruche up behind my achilles tendon, and walk miles without pain. Bliss! If buying again I might go for thinner than 7mm but I can thoroughly recommend using cut down versions of these socks as lower leg protection. Perhaps the manufacturers might consider making lower leg protection sheaths.

Very comfortable and extremely warm but quickly developed holes around the seams.Used these socks to do 'Tough Guy 2013' and for keeping your feet warm they are absolutely amazing!! While everyone else I did it with had numb feet my feet remained warm for virtually the whole time, only getting cold for a few seconds after going into icy water before the water in the socks warmed up. The socks were also very comfortable, Tough Guy is a 10mile running and obstacle event and seams did not rub at any point.Before I bought these I noticed other reviews have mentioned sizing being inaccurate, I'm a size 8 and bought the sock size recommended for size 8 and they fitted well.The only problem with them I would say is that after using them for tough guy I noticed they had got holes in both toes at the seam. Obviously this is not the kind of event they are intended for so this would normally be less of a problem but thought this may reflect that they might not last that long generally. The holes are around the seams though so they should be possible to repair but I haven't attempted this yet.

Not used yet but tired one on. Feels like a good comfortable fit and not to baggy. Ordered XXXL as I normally wear a UK13 (but think I'm a 12.5UK) and said for a 12/13. The sole wasnt quite as long as my feet by half an inch so probably perfect for a 12UK. Sure I will be able to wear them comfortabley with a pair of dive boots.

Have just received these so they've not been worn in anger yet however I thought I'd leave my first impressions particularly as others have been concerned about size. I'm a UK 8.5 wide fitting to 9 shoes size so I was on the borderline with choosing a size. I opted for the XL. First off, they looked to small and they're a struggle to get on however once on they are a perfect fit and very comfortable with no seams in the wrong places. No doubt they would stretch to fit someone with a larger shoe size. Initially I was looking for something light and anti-slip to wear poolside but when I came across these I remembered how much my flippers cut into my feet. They'll solve the second problem best.

I expect these are very go for divers. For me they are excellent to protect my diabetic feet from midnight sneak attacks from my cat and slippers.

I ordered the size they suggest. Sadly they are still too big and just end up filing with water and become unusable, this is for open swimming at least. Might be fine under a pair of diving boots? I would suggest getting a smaller size than what they advise. I tried request to request replacement but they said no because had been worn (once). They stopped replying to anything after that. Shame as the quality of them seems alright apart from the sizing. Wasted my money on something I cant use which is unfortunate.

I am size 41 and bought medium. A bit long in the toes but OK. Might buy another pair in small to try out. Used for swimming (without boots) to make it easier getting across pebbles. Not a huge amount of protection as the sole is quite thin but better than bare feet and light enough to not create drag when swimming.

The socks won't keep your feet dry but any water that does get trapped in, ends up being warmed up by your natural body temperature. So they are good to wear while running through cold water.Ideal for OCR events during the winter time that involves a lot of water. I tried them on a dry run and they weren't very comfortable for that.
