Cobra Buckle Dog Collar Heavy Duty for Large Dogs K9 and Military Made in USA (Large with Handle, Black)

My GSD puppy, now six months and 60lbs, is some kind of houdini when it comes to collars. Leather, heavy woven cloth, thinner woven nylon...she has either destroyed and broken free. Note, this is within the house or during play time outside, not alone outside. I do not leave her alone outside. Chain collars were out of the question other than a correction collar only used during training, so note I'm referencing an everyday collar that holds her necessary tags. Wanted something tough with a secure latch. Bam, this was the answer. The width of it allows it to be very stable when I need to grab it. The separate tag holder ring apart from the angled lead ring is an excellent design. The clasp is secure, durable and worry free. And when I have removed her collar and she wanted to play with it, she learned quickly it was tougher than her. I know I'll need to get a larger one as she continues to grow, and that one I will want with the handle option. I don't have a "do not pet" patch yet, but want one for the Home Depot socializing training trips. The professional trainer I'm working with is a former military K-9 handler. When he saw and inspected this collar he was very impressed. He said he wants one for his Dutch Shepherd. I think a pro making a statement like that outshines anything I could state.

I really love this collar. I purchased two of them for my two Malinois and the performance and durability has exceeded my expectations.Clasp: The cobra clasp is sturdy and solid. I've never had a problem getting it hooked or unhooked. A year of wear has worn some of the paint off, but the metal shows no signs of fatigue or wear.Stitching: The stitching has held up very well. This seemed to be a failure point for previous collars. These are large, powerful dogs and can pull very hard when they want to, weak stitching will tend to separate and once that happens, it's not long before the whole thing comes apart.Handle: I use the handle quite a bit when I need to reign them in. Stitching around the handle, and the handle itself, shows no signs of failure.Contact points between metal and collar: The metal edges of the loops and clasp has been machined with rounded edges so it shows no sign of wearing into or fraying the collar.Leash clasp: No signs of metal fatigue or failure, just normal wear from daily walks.Collar: Normal signs of wear. It's wide enough that when they pull, it distributes the pressure better and does not cut into the neck.Photos attached show a year of daily wear for a 75 pound Belgian Malinois. As I said, I've already purchased two of these and plan to buy another for a third dog. I highly recommend this collar.

I need another collar with the same characteristics. For 5 years, my dog has worn this collar 24/7. It has never failed; I'm only buying a new one for aesthetic reasons

I recently purchased this collar for my 16-month old, 90 lb, male, German Shepherd. He has resisted against some collars; but, not this one. So, I assume the collar is comfortable for him. It is too early to comment on the long-term reliability of the collar. Here is my immediate feedback (and I will modify later if needed).Plus:- Sturdy steel cobra buckle- Control handle- Convenient length adjustment using strong Velcro- Lots of space on the Velcro for various tagsMinus:- Plastic Swivel Clasp and V Rings (it is strange to see plastic used in a product that is meant to be heavy duty - the description says "Strong" to describe the "V Rings". But, I am skeptical that plastic will ever be as strong as steel like the one used on the buckle)

This collar is beefy. The buckle is the authentic AustriAlpin Cobra buckle. Same as found on our belts. The collar is exactly as depicted in the product description.The method for adjustment is not easily changed. Not difficult either. It's just a process. Same as some belts are. But once adjusted, it holds.I got one for a Malinois. Liked it so much, got two more: for a shepherd and a pitbull. I don't think you'll need another collar for your dog after this one.

Great, sturdy collar. I spent a lot of time shopping for a collar. Purchased for my Rottie. I like everything about it. The buckle is strong. The handle is right there when you need it, not bulky doesn’t get in the way. Velcro is super sticky, holds patches on real good. Does not stretch, holds size. Pricey, but definitely worth the money. Bought a couple months ago, still in great shape, no wear & tear. If you want a durable, heavy duty collar this is the one to buy...
