Seems to be of good quality and value for money compared to other brands
This arrived yesterday and though I haven't used it in anger yet, on initial examination it appears to be well made and initial quality if very good. There are no harsh edges that may rub rope badly or anything like that and it looks like it'll work well with a figure 8 or ATC belay device. It's got a decent size gate opening with the now industry-standard keylock gate that won't snag your rope. The screw gate moves nice and freely and the lock works smoothly but doesn't release without a bit of a firm twist (which is reassuring). Comparing this to the cost of Black Diamond, Omega and other carabiners I personally think that this is a good buy. Putting your life in the hands of a budget product isn't necessarily a good thing, but I think this carabiner seems to be of good quality at a reasonable price. I compared this to a Black Diamond VaporLock. It's 1/2 the price, lighter and stronger. It has also got good reviews in a variety of climbing magazines.I've only given this 4-stars as I've yet to test it fully, so no fault of the product but I won't ever say I love something without having fully tested it first.
