Mixed Review
Used this on my 20" ride cymbal. At first, I had a hard time keeping it on. I got it on ok, but as I was playing, it kept coming off. Happened about 4 or 5 times. Finally got it to stay on. Leaving it on overnight to see if that helps. Had better experiences with the 14" hi-hat and 17" crash. Those stayed on fine. I'm comparing these to the Evans Cymbal mutes. I like these better as you actually hit the real cymbal instead of rubber. But they are a little more audible than the Evans, at least on the ride and hi-hat. It's a solid clicking noise with no resonance, almost like just holding your ride cymbal with one hand and striking it with your stick. So, you get a louder click than you do with the Evans mutes, but you can play on the actual cymbal surface. The crash was very well muted, better than the Evans. So, overall, like them better than Evans as long as the ride cymbal mute stays on better.

Well made
It is very well made. Problem is that I must be an idiot because I can not get this on! I bought a cheaper set from a no name company and got those on.From construction and quality I say do it. If you are a goof like me then have someone put it on for you! Haha

Great design and well-made
The cymbomute is a great design and very well-made. It is extremely effective at muting any cymbals including hi-hats. Just be aware that this product basically completely kills the sound. The only place you get a decent sound when using these is on the bell of the ride. I had read other reviews that said the same thing, and they are correct. I wish there was a solution that would cut the sound by 75-80 percent, but I don't care for the rubber pads on the cymbals. 5 stars since it does exactly what it is designed to do, even thought I'm still interested in something better for my purposes.

Staying on the cymbal.
Great product but it requires a better method of staying attached to the cymbal. Perhaps a wider design or some sort of attaching pieces from side to side.I used it for about 6 short pre-rehearsals before it pops off due to cymbal movement or slippage. I had purchased one for my 15" hihats which lasted much longer staying attached for a much longer period of time. This influenced my second purchase of a 22" which lasted about 6 short plays before slipping off. Definition of 6 short plays: Rehearsing about 7 to 8 songs or pattern routine of the rudiments. Also, the 22" requires a second person to hold in place for installation.I can't recommend but will research a better way perhaps attaching cross-strings to keep it from slipping off. It works but must be watched before popping off.

Perfect!
They're not as hard to put on as others have complained about. Just hold up the cymbomute on one end, push the edge of the cymbal to it and push both to your abdomen. Then start running your hand all the way around the circumference of the cymbal, aligning the cymbomute as you go. It's not rocket science. As far the the muffling, WOW!! These really kill off the sound, amazing!! Thanks to these I can now practice with full dynamics at home with no remorse for my neighbors. One thing to note is that I did leave them on for the first 48-72 hours so that the crease would get "stronger", because at first they had a tendency to pop off on some hits. But once I left them on for a couple of days, they no longer pop off while playing, so I can take them on and off as is recommended.

Reallly quiet
Takes a little getting use to to put on. I love these. They mute the f out of the cymbal really not ringing and when tou hit theres no great effect its more like those cymbals from rockband no give. But thats what i want when im practicing. I would say if moon gels arent doing the trick this is it. You should be able to play these in a full house without too much complaint.

Why Aren't These More Popular?
I don't know why I hadn't heard of Cymbomutes before!I was concerned that a simple band around my ride would do nothing, but it cut down volume and resonance to a very managable ping that never received complaints or dirty looks from apartment neighbors or roomies.Making contact with the cymbal in place of a pad made practice so much more enjoyable!Get one. Get many!

Works well and better then competitors for a ride cymbal
Works well and better then competitors for a ride cymbal. The sound is 95% muted(good)(no ring-slightly bad), but it is a pain to put on the first time. Read the installation instructions so you don't frustrate yourself.

Silent Service

Great product which does as promised !! but is priced high
This is perfect for any ride, it fits well, mute the sound not completely, you can enjoy direct rebound of your stick. Perfect product if you want to quiet your ride cymbal. only thing is it is very expensive for its utility. Should be sold at half price.
