IBERA PakRak Bicycle Touring Carrier IB-RA16

I would give this rack 5+ stars, but because of the unusable front mounting bracket, I only give it three stars. This rack the IB-RA16 comes with an aluminum one piece "U" shaped bracket that attaches the front of the rack to the seat post stay screws. However if your seat post stay screws are at an angle like mine are the bracket eyes will not bolt properly on to the screws. It's a good thing I work in a machine shop! I took the bracket into the shop to bend the eyeholes on the bracket inward a little bit. Of course they broke right off! So I had to get steel flat stock and fabricate a set of brackets to attach the front of the luggage rack to the angled seat post screws.If your screws on your seat post stay are at an angle DO NOT BUY THIS RACK! Instead by the IB-RA4. The front mounting brackets on that rack are 2 individual pieces which allow it to swivel so that it can be attached to the seat post stay screws that are angled.

This is very well made, almost to the point of overkill. I honestly don't know how it could be made better. I do wish the bike had come with frame lugs, but standard P-clamps worked fine. The rack has three stanchions to provide better load support and keep panniers/bags from getting into the spokes. The price was also good. What's not to like?

Used on an older 27 inch 10 speed fit perfect took 10 minutes. Used thec Wald hardware 215 to secure front of rack to bike
