Excited to get this. Extremely detailed and informative. The cover and first few pages were damaged upon opening though so I’m a bit dissatisfied with the care put into shipping.

Very nice book! Just what I was looking for, which is a book for beginner collectors. My mother has been collecting red rose tea animals since 1982, for my son. She wanted a book for him that is easy to use and understand. This is the book. Just enough info to keep him informed of the value and the many different types of animals and which sets they belong to, along with the year they were made. This is a great value..pictures are color and very nice.

I'm not a Wade collector but needed to research a 1950's figurine given to me by my aunt. I couldn't find anything like it on eBay, so I ordered this book. Within minutes of opening it I had found my piece and enough information about it to list it successfully for sale. As with any reference book on antiques and collectibles, the values must be treated with skepticism since prices change with shifts in collectors' interests. But for basic background information, including illustrations and dating of backstamps, it is excellent.

My grandmother gave us wades when we were children. Our rural area was one of the test areas and it was nice to find out that some of the ones I still have are somewhat rare now. Delving through the pages took me down memory lane and spurred me to begin a bit of collecting.

I agree with the other reviews. I would class this book as an encyclopaedia of Wade Whimsies. There is a small article of the history of the Wade Potteries. There is also a section of the Wade potteries stamps and marks which includes dates and pictures. The book has photos and history of the Whimsies through the decades leading from 1953 to 2007. The book includes Whimsies (1953-2007), Special issues, Tea figurines (1967-2007), Cracker figurines (1965-2007), retail and commissioned Whimsies (1960-1993), Minikins and Dinosaurs, Series 2 Whimsies, Miniature Village sets (1980-1993), promotional figures and reproductions. A book which I will refer to as I re-build my Mothers collection I wanted but never got.

If you are new to Whimsies collecting, or just want to value your items, this book gives clear, concise and very helpful information. The text and photos are great. If you get this book, you should know as much as an experienced collector in a very short time!

I collect wade, so I thought I would treat myself to this irish wade book. it covers almost all the irish wade items with pics an details about them an a price guide too. great book to have in yr home if yr a wade collector.dont want to miss out on them carboot bargains
