Would be better if the cooking plates could be removed for cleaning

I got fed up with the traditional sandwich toasters so thought I would try something new.Positives- Looks professional toast- can add tons into sarnies- has a "lock" to squish sarnies more, or wedge it open more- cooks aubergine well- also did a good job on asparagus- can toast a wrap (no fillings) in about a minute- makes a useful click when wraps are ready (! not sure this was plannned, but useful when rushing to do lunch boxes in the morning)- Tastes way better than traditional sarnie toasterNegatives- although it IS big enough to put two proper size pieces of bread in, it does take a long time to toast them- easy wipe clean, but i find parts are going black and i cannot clean them (now maybe if teens used and cleaned this may not happen)- does not seal around the edges like traditional ones, so bean leak out (but I dont do beans)

Its a great tool for preparing one panini at a time as its just a tiny bit small for two. Saying that, It does do a great job of cooking the panini but takes a bit longer than the larger models as this one is not as high wattage. It is very easy to clean with a simple wipe down as the non-stick surfaces are very good. The machine is small enough to hide away in a cupboard (once cooled) and it is quite light to carry too.

so far easy to clean and does not burn anything :) however have almost burned my hand as the lid eaily tils forward and the safety catch keeps getting stuck

Love to have a way of creating the classic toasted panini as long as you do not try to toast anything bigger that a mini ciabatta. The plate is only good for 1 sandwich at a time, would probably also only do one steak or chicken escalope, not ideal in a family household. Still, it does exactly as it says on the tin.
