🦗 Outsmart whiteflies naturally—because your greenhouse deserves the best!
Encarsia Formosa is a natural parasitic wasp introduced in 4 weekly intervals to control whitefly infestations safely and effectively in greenhouses. Active above 10°C/50°F, each tiny wasp lays up to 300 eggs inside whitefly scales, providing eco-friendly, chemical-free pest management that protects crops and supports continuous harvests.

The course cured the whitefly problem
But not the aphids!

Sadly ineffective
A 4-week course stated in early June has failed utterly to control greenhouse whitefly. They are now a plague. A few encarsia were already hatched during transit and squashed when they arrived. Very few parasitised eggs seen 5 weeks later. I wonder how many eggs were viable. Only prompt delivery prevents a 1-star. A waste of £18 I'm afraid.

not brilliant
Couldn't tell if it worked as whitefly was quite bad, ordered more and still didnt get any real improvement. Purchased sticky insect sheets which I used in second greenhouse with definite reduction.

Use 4 introductions and banish whitefly
I tried these for the first time last year but only used 2 introductions then so felt I hadn't given that a fair trial .This year with 4 introductions and introducing them at the first sighting of whitefly I can say they have definitely done the job. It's great not to have to use any chemicals and with the bonus of seeing other wildlife buzzing in and out, including the occasional thrush!

encarsia treatment failed
This did not work. Not sure if greenhouse too hot, too late in the season encarsia released ( August), or whther encarsia had gone off when they arrived. No sign of any whitefly eggs/ larva blackened by encarsia and encarsia whitefly population continued to grow.

so I don't feel too happy about them this year
I think 2017 whitefly are too numerous for anything to control. I even have them outside on my plants. Since I live in a rural environment where do they come from? The Encarsia have given some control but I envisage having a second batch in late August, so I don't feel too happy about them this year. they have worked in the past, so it is disappointing this year..

Does the trick
Excellent. My greenhouse has been pest-free.

Best supplier of Encarsia.
This was cheaper than the Encarsia supplier I'd lost faith with over the past two seasons. My old supplier changed to a delivery once every two weeks, instead of weekly. That didn't cope with the whitefly population at all. Syngenta's weekly delivery is much more sensible. The whitefly are now under control in my greenhouse again. Using predators will never kill every last whitefly, but I only see one or two of them since the Syngenta course took effect, not clouds.
