An Awesome book. I love these Official Cisco books. Properly written and covers all the topics on the exams.

I ordered for a hardcover and materials presented in this book is indeed well written. I bought this book to refresh my OSPF and BGP skills.

Usual Cisco quality, the content is accurate and comprehensive, unfortunately. The book is let down by a rather scant index which makes the book pretty difficult to use as a reference book. I.e. Its easy to read cover to cover, but, difficult to find specific paragraphs. ../Steve

Exactly what was needed

I have the old version of this book and decided to purchase this one for the new 300-101 exam. It is disappointing that this book does not cover or even mention all the topics that are actually required for the exam. In addition to this the material has hardly changed (copy paste including the mistakes) from the previous book and the practice exams contained on the disk are identical to the old version. Whilst they thoroughly test your knowledge on the material covered in the book, because all the topics aren't there it's nothing like the real thing. I took all questions in the practice tests from this book (~180) and scored 96%. When I sat the real exam for the 1st time I failed and I don't think I had a single question even remotely close to what's in this book. This book is good don't get me wrong but considering this is the "Offical Cert Guide" I would strongly advise not to simply rely on this alone.

It’s what I expected to receive and the CD (bonus material + test engine) a very good complement.

I suggest buying the Kindle version and hard cover. I can understand people's frustration if they just have the Kindle version of this book. With Cisco Press, there are the reading itself, figures, and then examples. You almost need 3 monitors to read all of this. And that's exact what I suggest, multiple copies of the book both in electronic version and the hard copy. I actually own the Kindle version, hard copy, plus I read this on SafariBooksOnline.com and that's basically what I need to follow all of this stuff.Since I am already a CCNA and I have taken CCNP courses but never got my CCNP certification, this is the right book for me. If you are new to CCNP fresh off your CCNA then the Foundation Learning Guide will be the book for you. Then come to this book.I think Kevin Wallace did a great job. It's just that it's a traditional textbook and it's not laid out like the CCNA is in the Cisco Networking Academy or a course on the Cisco Learning Network Store. There's a lot of flipping back a bunch of pages to see the figure they are refering to. But nonetheless the way the book is written given real expectations of what Kevin Wallace had to work with is second to none. This is a fantastic book.
