Great Except For Opening A Difficult Battery Case
I love this but then I’m a kitchen gadget addict. I really had problems opening the battery case. It’s not necessarily user friendly in this respect.I recently bought a Kindle Fire TV streaming device. I could not open the battery case of the remote. I had to go back to Best Buy. It took two employees awhile to figure it out and get it open.Manufacturers need to consider this issue when developing products. I appreciate products Which are more compact. If I wasn’t so stubborn I would have returned it. But it does work great but does have a learning curve.

Can't live without it!
There is nothing better than food cooked at the proper internal temperature. As a kid I figured pork chops were supposed to have a beef jerky texture. Now I know that food can be cooked at safe temperatures without being over cooked. I have several types in my kitchen. The insta-read is great for quick temperature checking. This is a must have for the kitchen!

Worked well on the turkey and uses an AAA battery.
Worked fine for measuring the turkey's temperature --- went in deep, measured quickly. I am also glad it uses a AAA battery. Much better than any previous meat thermometer's I've had. It gave an ambient air temp that was within a degree of my indoor thermometer, so I assume it is accurate. It even comes with directions to recalibrate if necessary.
