Squirrel Proof Suet Nugget Wild Bird Feeder - Roamwild PestOff

I now have 3 of these, Fat Balls, Mealworms & Peanut version (all very different, so be careful not to order the wrong one). The Fat Ball feeder is great and keeps the balls dry and free from mould. The Peanut feeder works well. The Mealworms keep getting stuck and I have to jiggle the feeder to make them drop. Otherwise apart from being expensive they are really good quality and work well. They keep the squirrels & pigeons off (they now ignore my feeding area!) and the small birds love them. I think they will last for years

I thought these fat ball feeders would be a great present for my husband’s birthday. The product is well made but sadly a blue tit got caught in the mechanism on both of the feeders and each died. We unfortunately did not see them in time to save them. I think that when a number of birds are on the feeder the weight pulls down the mechanism and a bird can be caught by the feet. So now these expensive feeders have been taken down as we cannot risk more birds dying.My husband contacted the company direct on 26th April 2020, who were very concerned and offered replacements of the mechanism but these haven’t arrived and subsequent emails have been ignored. We will now return the products for a full refund.I use this company’s products for my chickens and these work perfectly.

Very sturdy, easy to fill.little birds like themonce they got used to seeing them.There is very little seed which falls to the floor, so little waste.I don't have to fill the feeder daily as I did with old style feeder, due to large birds decimating the seed. So my bird food shopping bill has been reduced.The squirrel has tried to eat from it but as yet he has not succeeded.A baby magpie has managed to figure it out but he can only manage to balance for a few moments at a time so can't get much bird food.Overall I am very pleased. The feeders stay fuller for longer, there is nothing for the birds to cling on to so they find it very frustrating and difficult to use, so I have noticed that the larger birds have gone to my neighbours.Definitely would recommend.

This does exactly what it should do! Keeps the fat balls dry, can fit 7 or 8 and keeps the bigger birds off, they just pick up the pieces on the ground. We had trouble with magpies leaning across from the stem of the feeder and helping themselves through a fat ball cage!

Product is no good and in our opinion seriously overpriced. Our birdfeed stand is very popular and visited by wild bird this time of year, feeding on seed, nuts and fat balls. This purchase was to replace an old 'fat ball' holder. As we do have problems with squirrels this feeder seemed ideal. When first assembled was concerned that wild birds might be reluctant to effectively 'climb inside' to feed. Our fears have been borne out in that having now been up in the garden for a few weeks now, and whilst not touched by the squirrels, none of the wild birds have used/fed from it either, so it sits there with the original fat balls untouched.

The feeder looks really good. Well made etc. Easy to fill etc.But, I'm sorry to have to say that it did not meet my expectations at all and I'm really disappointed.Disappointingly, hardly anything has bothered with it, a couple of blue tits have had a little look. The woodpecker goes nowhere near it!I got this item because it said squirrel proof but woodpecker friendly. In my opinion the port's are set too far in. I've watched the couple of blue tits that had a look at it and I saw that they have to almost put their little heads completely inside to get the energy balls and I wonder if they feel too vulnerable?I ended up buying a £25 cheaper Gardman Snax Feeder and it works. It appears to keep the squirrels at bay and the woodpecker comes to it as do all the other birds, which is great. The only downside is that the magpies can get at the energy balls too.I thought I was buying well buying the more expensive feeder but that hasn't been the case at all.

No more crows stealing all the food...so happy with this feeder, will be purchasing similar one for nuts 😁

Great idea, nut and seed feeders like this are fantastic, but wouldn't recommend for fat balls. Birds take longer to stay and peck the fat balls and it therefore favours the larger tits who scare off the smaller ones and they don't get a look in.Does still prevent pigeons etc

Wir haben uns für diesen Spender entschieden, da wir bei uns immer ganz vieleVögel haben und ich nicht ständig neue Knödel aufhängen muss.Das besondere ist, dass das Eichhörnchen wirklich nicht dran kommt. Sobald es sich drauf setzt macht es zuund es guckt dann seltsam. Auf jeden Fall kann ich es weiter empfehlen. Es passen 7 - 8 Knödel rein und es können nurdie kleinen Vögelchen futtern.

Initialement je souhaitais acheter le modèle pour cacahuète qui n’est pas disponible actuellement. Je scrute son retour.Produit très bien emballé, très bonne finition, tout semble se démonter facilement pour nettoyer, par rapport à la pluie cela sera très bien.Mise en place facile, bien pensée, aucun soucis avec des boules de graisse. Il y a une sécurité évitant de mettre une boule qui aurait un diamètre trop juste.Il a fallu 2-3 jours pour que les petits oiseaux prennent leur marque sauf perruches et pigeons qui doivent se contenter de miettes tombées au sol en compagnie des moineaux et autres oiseaux.

Totalement inutile et inefficace : les étourneaux se posent dessus sans faire bouger d'un mm le mécanisme et dévorent tranquillement les boules de graisse.

Heute Morgen fand ich einen toten Spatz im bzw. am Futterautomaten hängend. Ja, hängend. Ich nutze diesen Automaten jetzt bereits mehrere Monate und war eigentlich sehr begeistert davon: Schutz vor Nässe, größeren Vögeln und Nagern. Allerdings fiel mir bereits mehrfach auf, dass sich die Kralle(n) der Spatzen, Meisen & Co. recht oft zwischen dem Automaten selber und der Sitzstange einklemmten und die Vögel dann panisch piepsend daran runterhingen, kopfüber. Bisher konnten sie sich immer alleine befreien, ob sie sich bei der Aktion verletzt haben, weiß ich natürlich nicht. Heute Morgen klemmte der HALS des Spatzes aber zwischen dem Knödel und dem Gehäuse und starb. Wie? Den Gedanken überlasse ich jedem selber. Nachdem ich ihn dann irgendwie da herausbekommen habe, habe ich denFutterautmoat sofort entsorgt. Das war definitiv zuviel und wirklich schrecklich zu sehen!

Parfait!!!! Enfin une mangeoire qui empêche écureuils et gros oiseaux de venir squatter!!!Je vois vraiment une grosse économie en nourriture et fini les mangeoires détruites par les becs de ces vandales de corvidés!En plus en cas d’intempéries les graines et les oiseaux sont au sec.Je recommande sans hésitation !!!J’en ai acheté 4 du coup ;)
