brilliant book for anyone wanting to join the RAF
I bought this book to read up about the application process for joing the RAF, I found it is very informative and has lots of tips to help get through the selection process. I have since applied for the RAF, just waiting for an interview now.It is great how the book is broken down into small chapters and it is easy if you are looking for a specific area of the selection process. I hope that I pass the selection process and if I do, it will have been partly down to the information I read in this book.It is a must have for anyone who wants to or is considering joining the RAF. I have also bought the armed forces test book, mechanical comprehention and numerical reasoning test book to accompany this one which I also highly recommend.How2Become has a good website to

Really useful book
This book is incredibly user friendly and easy to read. Split into relevant sections with practise questions too I found it helped me think clearly about each section of my interview and how to think of relevant answers. Great for a quick reference too.

Havent sat the RAF exam yet so cant tell you how accurate it is, doesn't really tell you much about how to work out the questions at all its just a book of practise questions really just like the practise ones on the RAF website. I will say this the electrical questions are very simple logic ones to do with ohms law and for some reason a question to do with an ion, I know the raf mock paper had harder ones as all his where about if these switches are turned off what happens , also the mechanical questions aren't fantastic either a lot of them are trick questions again to do with logic... I found one mistake in the answers for the mchanics questions the evry last one was on a bout at what point is a pendulum fastest in its stroke - the answer should be at the bottom because it has accelerate as fast as it can before it starts going up hill but this chaps anwer was its fastest at the beginning and the middle which is wrong unless we lived in a world of no acceleration - on the other hand I am a professional mechanical engineer and maybe i'm thinking too advanced for this basic test :/ - this book is better than the others on the market anyway

Yes but actually, no.
Helpful book to get you familiar with they type of questions asked on the test paper. Layout is good with the answer sheet at the end of each section instead of them all being lumped in the back.HOWEVER the amount of typos in this book is phenomenal. Answers have been listed with the wrong question numbers which isn’t helpful if you’re trying to study. There are spelling mistakes and mistakes on some of the graphs. The explanations for the answers is somewhat lacking and poor, doesn’t provide any help when trying to see where you’ve gone wrong with the question. Lots of Googling and other revision books bought to compensate for this which meant I ended up spending more money than I initially intended.

This book was really useful and helped me prepare for the ability tests. I had no clue what to expect from the tests but I now feel confident I will pass... fingers crossed!
