Dashington Black Decorative Sand, 5 Pound Container/80oz

The sand itself is ok. It is not super fine, and the color is a deep black as expected. The packaging, however, really needs to be improved. I ordered 3 containers of this sand. 2 of the 3 containers were ridiculously difficult to open, requiring a great deal of time, strength, and prying with a screwdriver. I do not appreciate it when a product requires me to injure myself in order to open it.

As another reviewer said the packaging wasn't very good. The container for the sand was broken and I had sand coming out of the package and all over my car. It looks like it will work well for what I need and I didn't drop too much so not returning, just wish they packaged it better.

Everything's good concerning the sand it self it was the delivery that needs some work.Came in a plastic container and it cracked so the product spilled out.Others I noticed have complained as well..for a few years now. Maybe they will resolve the problem soon?

I bought this for my plants. I was dealing with a fungus gnat problem and they say a layer of sand disrupts their life cycle.This sand it beautiful and uniform in color. Looks great on top of my houseplants. The only drawback is it is a little pricey.

The sand was all over the box when I opened it. Terrible packaging! I'm sure it's good but hard to tell when I couldn't use it.
