I don't think it would work on a corner desk no. For the hammock to stay up, you need the 2 ends of the desk which you hang it from to be parallel. I think if the sides which you hang it from are not parallel, the hooks will be able to move and the hammock won't stay tight.

Yes, I think it would stretch to that

Probably. The ropes it comes with are fairly long, and if not you can surely extend them
