Barberries (Zereshk) (500 Gram)

This is the color of the product I receive which is an indicative of old and low quality product. I am very disappointed and apparently I can’t even rerun this even though it was clearly not what was advertised on the image.

I would give the barberries a 10, but unable to do so. They arrived promptly and in order. I hurried and brought out my favorite Persian cookbook, "JOON" that I also purchased on Amazon. Then I brought out my 6 qt Faqor multi-cooker, and placed the spices, barberries, and basmati rice in the cooking pot. Then, I selected the White Rice button. Then in a few minutes, I fluffed up all with a fork after pouring over the rice the Saffron that had been steeping in warm water. It was the best barberry rice I ever ate! I will make over and over and when I run out, will order CYRUS SAFFRON barberries again.

I soaked rinsed and repeated at least three times. till the water ran clear, soaked them twice, and now they are damp and gritty. If I wash them any more, they will fall apart. They are sour, and that's ok, however berries should be washed and dried before packing. This is too labor intensive.

I paid more for this than another brand I had been buying and liked bc this one said organic on website description. The package arrived and makes no reference whatsoever to organic. Plus these seem to have a lot of stems in, and I even found a pebble. You have to really look and not just throw into something.

Good quality and arrived pretty quickly I'm excited to see how they will improve my skin health :^)
