If you're trying to get a lock on a steal gate, yes. This is the box you're looking for. They have a version of this in Aluminum as well but you'll need this for steal applications. It's perfect fo the job but follow these tips for the best experience:Don't even remove it from it's plastic bag until you're going to install it. As mentioned in previous reviews, it will rust in the air. It will rust where you touch it. It's unfinished steal. This is what unfinished steal does. (You'll see rust in my photos. I took mine out of the bag and it sat for months before I could install it. Brushed all the rust away before painting it.)It's designed to be welded into place. It's made of a nice heavy gauge steal so it won't come apart or melt away during installation.Once it's in give it a good steal brushing and paint - inside and out - immediately!Do these things and you'll be happy as a pig for the rest of your days. Fitment and alignment are dead-on so you'll have no issues installing your lock.Highly recommended.

High quality as far as the box goes. A little disappointed it didn’t come with an exterior piece of metal to prevent it from over swinging when installed as a gate

Well made and are a good price. These are little thicker (1.75 inch) than the 1.5 inch gate. I bought a few of these.

Nothing not to like. Welded it into the gate, cleaned it, painted it and installed the lock. No problemo!
