The E-Myth Contractor: Why Most Contractors' Businesses Don't Work and What to Do About It
M**Y
This and e-myth revisited are my #1 business books
A lot of books like this make a lot of claims about their benefits but Only give vague, general concepts and talk more about what the book can do for you rather than how the book can help you actualize its claims. This lays out simple step by step plans. Not a bunch of fluff and filler it’s straight to the point. It can tell you a lot of what you should know in just 100 pages so you can learn what you need to in a day or two. It’s an actual cheat sheet but not to “get rich quick” it outlines how to work towards a great company but doesn’t give allusions that you can do it without putting in thoughtful work or over night

A MUST have for any Contractor!!
I wish I would have read this book years ago! But like many others I always thought that there couldn't be but soo much in it I don't already know and I'll never get around to reading it. WRONG & WRONG!! I been in the trades for almost 2 decades and i still learned alot from this book. Honestly, you can't afford NOT to buy it!!

Beginner’s Mind
If you are frustrated with sub-contractors and the way your business and your life are seeming to be running you, instead of you running them, read this, and then read it again. God has given us Michael. What a blessing. To put order back into chaos.

if You Read the E-Myth Revisited, Don't Bother
I've read the original E-Myth several times. One of my big complaints about Gerber is how he built a franchise around the E-Myth, but then he squeezed the lifeblood out of it. This is one example. If you read the original, every concept is reiterated in this book in the context of a contracting business. That's not an effective use of your time. Although, you can buy this book cheaply used.

Interesting Read
I enjoyed this book...it is not just for building contractors, but applicable for anyone that has a single person company that is looking to expand. I have a small management consulting practice and I refer to this book over and over again. There were many practical tips and real life examples that made sense. I highly recommend this book,.

If you are a contractor - you just NEED this book, even if it is the only book you ever buy!
Brilliant Advice - Wish I read this in year 1 of my business start up, instead of year 7!But I am now starting to grow into other sectors, so even this long into my business, there were LOADS of tips that I needed to apply with immediate effect.

A must for any aspiring General Contractor
I have taught and trained tradesmen and women for the last 10 years in obtaining their Construction Business Management license and in my opinion this is one of the best resources that they could have if they want to succeed! It covers everything that they absolutely need to know in order to run a successful General Contracting business. My biggest takeaway - you need the right plan for the business that you want to create and the value that you want to provide to your customers.

good book
I bought this for a friend who is a contractor. I had read the original version years ago. He has been struggling to get a hold of managing his business and not being an employee. The book had lots of advice and he has read it and took notes and will reread it. The premise is simple...learn to manage..otherwise you are just an employee and the business is not transferable.
