Hands down the best deal of any PA speakers
Shipping Time: I ordered them on Monday afternoon, they were at my door on Tuesday just after lunch. I've never seen that before in my life. I couldn't believe it.Fit and Finish: The quality of materials overall is very good. The handles on the sides are plastic but I never felt like they were going to break, even after a lot of use. I removed the woofer and the front baffle is indeed 5/8" plywood (good). The back and sides are 5/8" particle board... not the best but they somewhat make up for it by adding some bracing here and there. The carpet is decent. The front grille is about 1/16" steel and is finished in a smooth, satin powder-coat-like finish. The stand mount on the bottom is steel (1-1/4" ID) and is braced on the inside with an extra thickness of particle board. Every edge of wood is glued. All the panels fit together perfectly.Drivers: The woofer is a fairly efficient 15" with paper cone and ribbed treated paper surround. It has a large magnet, at least 7" or 8" in diameter and 1-1/2" thick. It's not the highest quality, but it's very good at this price point and sounds very satisfying. I measured it with a DATS v2 and came up with this (although please remember that drivers can vary greatly):F(s): 37HzQ(ts): .87R(e): 6.33V(as): 10.25 ft^3SPL: ~93db @ 1w/1mRealistically, this is not a 96db speaker unless you're talking about just what the tweeter puts out. After eq'ing, this will end up being about a 93db at best. The tweeter is very nice, very articulate, and very efficient. I think they tamed it a little with a limiting resistor. Speaking of which....Crossover: Yes, it has a real crossover... you know, inductors, capacitors, and resistors, all of it. It sends the lows to the woofer and the highs to the tweeter, unlike most cheap speakers which just put a cap on the tweeter and call it a day. From the looks of it, it's a 12db/octave crossover and looking at the impedance curve, I believe it's around 2KHz.The Sound: Ok, I must preface this by saying that I didn't actually listen to the speakers when I got them. I immediately took them apart and put extra bracing all around the woofer as well as glued additional thickness (I had some 1/2" walnut laying around) on the sides and back. I then added a significant amount of fiberglass insulation to mitigate bouncing sound waves making their way back out of the woofer and to increase the effective box volume. I then plugged the T/S numbers from above, the box size, and the ports' size into a calculator and found out that the ports were doing literally nothing except exacerbating a spike at around 100Hz, so I removed them and glued wood on the back side of the holes to create a sealed enclosure. This tamed the spike and made the enclosure (the baffle) much stronger. After doing all of this, I hooked them up to a little 20watt amp, turned on the Eagles - Hotel California Live, and was amazed at how these things sound with NO eq. With a $200 MiniDSP, these things could be incredible. I could almost use them in a home theater if my wife wouldn't shoot me over it. But they are actually going to a church to be the mains. I have no doubt that they will perform flawlessly for that venue. Off-axis, they're actually not as bad I thought they would be (read: the highs don't fall off as quickly as I expected). For a wide seating area like a church, the congregation will be completely satisfied with the sound.Overall: For less than $300 with free shipping, you will not beat these speakers. Period. I mean *any* speakers in this price range or even higher. With the above mods, you won't believe how good a PA speaker can sound.

Beautiful and such a great company!
I love that the speakers are 15 inch and are not very heavy. They will stay in one place in my studio and so far connected to a crown 2002 amplifier they sound amazing. These are 8 ohm so that is 375 watts each going in I think. I am only running them at probably 30% and the sound is great still. This company has helped me out personally in the past when I call them for advice and they are always great. I highly recommend any product they sell. Quality and value for money has always been their strong suit. I wouldn’t have considered any other speakers for my rehearsal space.

Not just a good value, a pleasant sound
I just received them a day early & gave em a spin and i was impressed. I elevated them on tripods, ran a behringer europower 2500 amp, first with an eq but I found bypassing it was the move.Time will tell the rest, but out the box, these are a fine pair of spkrs thats plenty loud, nice standard look that doesnt take eyes away from the program. These are not rectangles, they do have a stage monitor like a subtle trapezoid shape. Carpeted, light enough to elevate and tear down. Overall, very pleased, the lighter price doesnt hurt. But no, regardless of value, these speakers do give a full sound that reminds me of a wall of boxes. Clear highs pushing out too. Now i want to find out if theres a bag covering out there for em. Thank you!

Lasted a year of heavy use
Ran these in a show bar for a year and now one is completely dead, the other only plays high end. Fuses in the crossovers weren't blown, even tried replacing the crossovers, no change on either speaker. Wires checked good and It's not the Amp, it drives the other set of yamaha mains beautifully. (Those speakers have about 15 years of use and are still sounding solid) so moving up to yamahas that cost twice as much, but hopefully will last more than 15 times as long.Still not bad sounding speakers, just don't expect a long life at live performance levels.

Had these for almost a year now
Only thing I will do differently in the future is get speakers that are covered in plastic instead of fabric. I’m sure the fabric cuts on cost for manufacturer making these speakers more affordable, which is one of the reasons I got them in the first place.Other than that, great speakers !Some dude left a crazy review after testing these for resonant peaks. He said these were greatly balanced other than somewhere around 100-150hz if I remember correctly . He opens them up and lined them with Rockwool and solved the “problem”.For me, it’s never been an issue but it would be cool to do what he did. I use these for live gigs DJing. Combined with a sub of course. They’re plenty loud for gigs small and medium gigs .Sound fine to me.Great value for money. And not too heavy at all. I have bowed one of my speaker stands after having this speaker on a mild tilt bc of the ground and at full extension. My fault , not the speakers weight.

Great Sound!
These sound great! I bought them to be stage monitors but used them as mains at our last gig. Clear, clean and booming. Well worth the cost.
