Luna Premium Hypoallergenic Waterproof Crib Mattress Protector - Phthalate Free - Made in The USA

Bought one of these three years ago for my first child's crib, and was so happy with it that we bought the queen size version for our bed, and another crib size for our second child who was just born. The first one we bought, for my older daughter, has been washed once a week, at least, for three years and has held up extremely well. No unraveling, no holes, no failure in the waterproof material. It has stood up to plenty of diaper leaks when she was an infant, and a few overnight accidents now that she's potty trained, and hasn't leaked onto the mattress once. Our queen size one has endured multiple spills and its own share of accidents since my daughter regularly sleeps in our bed when she is sick or napping.Unlike some waterproof mattress protectors, this is quiet, never "crinkly". When buying the one for our bed I was worried that my husband would feel it trapped heat and made him too warm -- he's one of those people who likes the thermostat at 68 degrees and will have a fan running and the window open even when it's cold out -- but he hasn't ever complained about this. It seems to be very breathable. I'm happy that it is phthalate free, since I try to avoid questionable chemicals, and all of us have dust allergies, so the dust mite protection is great too. The only thing to be aware of is this is ONLY a mattress protector, not a mattress pad. It's very thin, so if you're looking for something that will add cushioning to the mattress, this isn't it.In short, this product delivers on its promises and it's very reasonably priced. No complaints whatsoever.

Okay. I have tried three different mattress pad protectors/covers. The ones that came with the mattresses (I have two small children), one that I bought at the store (don't remember the brand), and this one. Before buying this one I read all the reviews on the others. I really wanted something that would protect from night time accidents and such. I was surprised on how many of the reviews for some of the other pads (such as the Carter one, which received high reviews) didn't address the ACTUAL absorbency based on personal experience. So here I go on this one: This is a great mattress pad. I bought one for each bed (one toddler, one crib) and am very pleased. My baby had a bloody nose one night and it stained the sheets and the pad but the mattress was not touched!!!! It has also withstood multiple diaper leaks. As for my toddler... it withstood the test of Mommy forgetfulness. I forgot to put her in a pull up one night and she peed in the bed. I changed her sheets and the mattress was DRY (keep in mind it was a full night-time bladder!). Other nights when her pull up leaked it was also protected. Both mattresses are basically brand new thanks to these pads. I just ordered 2 more so that I have spares and when we start to train night time (bye bye pull ups!) I will need extras! It is a great product! Oh, and it doesn't make noise when they move around on their beds. Yay! I would hate to give them a noisy bed to sleep on!I gave it four stars just due to the price being a little bit higher than I'd like (but I guess you get what you pay for) and the fact that they are very thin and seem to be showing a little wear. So far no tears but I do see the start of oe. I machine wash cold and put on a low setting for the dryer. They fit nicely over the mattress and aren't too difficult to get on (big point with me).

Immediately when I opened this product it smelled awful. I tried washing it to get the smell out, yet not only did the smell not come out but the other sheets I washed with it now have the same terrible, chemical filled smell. I don't know what kinds of chemicals they put in this mattress pad to "prevent 99% of allergy triggers" but I would never place my newborn baby on a pad that was offgassing so badly. I would strongly recommend not buying this product for your baby.

We have a Luna cover for our Queen size bed and it fits perfectly, but the one we bought for the crib mattress was a RIDICULOUSLY tight fit... I could barley get it on the mattress and the sides of the cover barely come down enough to cover the sides of the mattress. I wish the sides were longer so they could at least get under the bottom lip of the mattress to help hold it in place. Overall I was pretty disappointed with the fit.

I don't know the brand anymore but our original mattress protector was organic and from BRU. It is very thick and works great. It was starting to rip at the corners from over 2 years of use so I wanted an extra. This one is decent. Its VERY thin and also don't seem to absorb/protect the mattress as well as my original one but we plan on upgrading to a twin bed in the near future so it will for now as a backup.

We love how the protector feels! This is our 4th purchase - we now have a queen, a twin and a crib size protectors, and we've given one to a friend as a baby shower gift. We absolutely love them. They fit perfectly, our oldest one hasn't stretched or changed in any way for more than 2 and a half years and who knows how many washes. Unlike 3 other brands we've used previously, Luna actually allows your skin to breathe. No more sweating, no more getting watm and uncomfortable. Awesome buy!

Beautifully made, waterproof but not "crunchy." Thanks for making products in the USA!!! This cover travels between my toddler's bed and the baby's crib. I have 2 other types of mattress covers, but any replacements will be made by purchasing this mattress protector from now on. It is really well made, effective, and soft.

I have had this for my son's crib for 16 months now. It has helped protect his mattress through the diaper blowout phase as well as leaky diapers. I'm about to buy a couple more (not sure why I didn't buy multiple to begin with!).It's good quality, holds up well, and did not have a chemical smell like other mattress protectors. I'm only giving 4 stars because it did shrink a little after washing (following instructions) but it hasn't affected its use.
