We recently purchased several sets Mexican dinnerware that's made from red clay, and they are often referred to as Barro or Tlaquepaque dinnerware. My wife fell in love with this style of plate after our last vacation in Mexico (Cabo); however, after purchasing we discovered that wooden cutlery are the recommended utensils to use when eating off of these types of clay dishes.Simply put, wooden utensils will not scratch the dinnerware and in an effort to substantially extend the dinnerware's lifetime I searched the internet for wooden spoons, forks, and knives. I was very happy to see that wooden cutlery sets are sold on Amazon. I know, shocker right? :)However, not only are wooden utensils readily available via Amazon but these wooden utensils are of very high quality, and unlike plastic, they don't bend or warp when using. In my opinion, they are easily a direct replacement for silverware because of their rigidity, weight, size, and shape. Another important characteristic that makes them comparable to metal utensils, and much easier to use than plastic, is the smooth wooden texture which has just enough surface friction that prevents food & "out-of-hand" slippage. You know...try eating pasta with a plastic fork. With a spoon...forget about it!BTW, my cutlery set had absolutely zero strange smells which was a complaint of another reviewer. I'm not sure of the exact smell being detected by that reviewer, but I'm very sensitive to strange chemical odors and these wooden utensils had no smell whatsoever. I will surely and happily purchase again!

I bought this cutlery set for my country style wedding, some burlap runners on the tables and some lace and it has been a huge success among all of our guests! They appreciated a lot that this cutlery set was something recyclable and not simple plastic, something very useful to teach kids during the party the importance of saving our planet and environment from pollution. Each and every single piece was in perfect conditions and we haven't found a single problem. The package arrived on perfect time (way in advance, to tell the truth) and in perfect conditions, so really I couldn't have asked for more. In my opinion, I absolutely recommend either the product and the seller and I'll surely buy from them again in the future!

These were great for the luau themed event at our church. I wasn't sure what it would be like to eat off wood utensils, but it was different and fun.The knife and spoon are great. Because it's wood, it's difficult to make a fork with long or sturdy tines. That means that aside from perhaps holding down a soft piece of meat, your fork is nearly "spork"-like. I overheard some comments like, "The spoon works better than the fork," and a couple people found some metal forks and started using them.But again, it was fun and fit the theme perfectly.

I bought these because I bought disposable Palm Tree plates, and I thought they would all look nice together. However, I do not like them. The forks don't really grab the food very well.

Do NOT buy these. The only thing that was somewhat useful was the forks, yet they were still stubby and made it difficult to eat most things. The spoons were SO flat, they were just thrown away. The knives were extremely dull and were also thrown away. Taken out of the package, they smelled horribly. The forks were fine, but the spoons and knives had a lot of splinters. Will NOT be buying these again.

Awesome Design! Very happy with this productThis product is beautifully designed and a great alternative to plastic utensils. These utensils are also a healthier alternative than plastic since the wood cutlery does not leach chemicals if food is hot. We will certainly purchase this product again.

What a great set! These are great disposable utensils and I love that they are easier on the environment than plastic. They come in the perfect quantity for everyday use, parties or families!! They are strong and durable and will be perfect for parties and picnics! I would definitely buy again.

Great Product! We purchased the wooden utensils for our little ones bday party. The design is great and the kids loved them. We even used some of the utensils for a craft project with the kids. I highly recommend this cutlery.
