YES this product works!
Bought this cleaning kit as a last ditch effort before I junked yet another inkjet printer with clogged heads. Over the years I have trashed at least 4 printers for the same problem, clogged printheads, because I only occasionally use my color inkjet printers. I use my monochrome laser for everyday printing because it is much, much more economical. Occasionally when I want to print 4 x 6 photos I do so at a kiosk at the local drugstore, because the quality is better and it is way cheaper than printing them on an inkjet. There are occasions, however, where I need that one-off color page or when the kids need to print images for their school projects. Oftentimes that's when I discover to my dismay that once again the printer is nonfunctional due to lack of use. It's so incredibly frustrating!I bought this kit to see if there actual is a solution to the "the printer is fine, it's just clogged because I don't use it often" issue that I (and I'm guessing many others) encounter. Based on my first use of this kit, I can confidently say there is, and this kit is it!My HP 6510 - which has non-removable print heads - was unable to print black. All three colors worked fine, but no black printed at all. I went through numerous online suggestions - cleaning the heads via the printer control panel, software cleaning, then software deep cleaning - all to no avail. In fact I pretty much blew through an entire new set of color cartridges trying to clean the darn thing. This appears to be a very, very common issue with this printer and others like it.In my research to solve this problem I stumbled across the Printhead Hospital's videos online. I thought this product deserved a shot because if it worked, it's the answer I've been looking for. So I bought this kit. It arrived promptly. Having watched the videos I knew the procedure, so I boiled some water, heated the solution and injected the black printhead. Then I went upstairs and ate dinner :-) When I returned to the project, I injected the final 1 ml of solution, removed the syringe assembly and cleaned up the blotting paper area. I reinstalled the black cartridge, and having little color ink left, decided instead of running the full nozzle cleaning yet again I would merely print out a single page black and white document. Over the course of that first page I could see the cleaning fluid slowly giving way to the ink on the page. By the end of the page the black ink was almost fully restored. So I printed the page again. This time the document was perfect! After that I printed several more pages, including color graphics and higher resolution photos. The printer was good as new! And the entire procedure took less than an hour including dinner! So I HIGHLY recommend this product. Just be careful to follow the instructions. Definitely watch the video before you start! Using the kit is a bit fidgety in transferring the liquid between containers, syringing it and so on. I might also recommend using paper towels as shown in the video because the blotting paper didn't catch all the liquid and I had to do a little extra cleanup inside the printer. (not a big deal) Make sure you wear the gloves, both to protect against the solution and also to keep your hands from getting ink all over them - especially if you need to do a bit of extra cleaning inside the printer as I did.One final note, I've gone from ordering the product from Amazon to fully functional printer in less than two days. Printhead Hospital has already contacted me offering help should I need it and also reminding me that I am entitled to a $15 refund if we can't get the printer clean. That's great customer service. Highly recommended!

great product
This product worked exactly as described. The printhead on my HP Officejet Pro 8600 stopped working after about 6 months. I did have non-HP ink cartridges installed, so this could have been the problem, but I've been using off-market cartridges with my Canon printer for years with no problems and the web is also full of complaints about this particular printhead. I followed the instructions on the HP website for cleaning the printhead, and managed to get only the black ink to work for about 3 pages (using all HP cartridges this time) before it clogged again, cleaned it again, it clogged again, cleaned it one more time, it clogged again and I gave up. Seeing that a new printhead would cost $100 (with no guarantee that the new one would be any better than the old one), I searched the web for another solution, and stumbled on the excellent reviews on Amazon for this product. Not only was it only $23, but the seller offered a $15 refund if it didn't work (I'd forgotten about this, but got an E-mail from the seller on the day it was delivered to offer additional help if needed, or a $15 refund if his product didn't solve the problem). I followed the video posted on his website, and after one cleaning, every color is working again except for yellow. I would have been happy just to have the black working. I have printed about 60 pages so far, and the printing is beautiful. I intend to clean the yellow port again when I have some time (there's probably enough solution in the bottle for 6 or 7 full cleanings). I highly recommend this product.

Cleared up my HP 5510 printer black print issues easily
One of the most prevalent issues with the HP 5510 printer is inability to print black or black streaking. My experience with these cheap printers is that they are designed to have a limited life so you buy another one sooner than later. A very common issue with the cheap printers is the printhead clogging. The black printing issue was fairly easy for me to remedy, after a lot of research. There is a product called Printhead Hospital, sold by Amazon, that will clean the print heads on this printer. Buy the one for HP printers. Follow their instructions and it should clear up your printhead issues. This product is designed for both removable and non removable print heads. The product is super easy to use. It cleared my black printhead problem in 2 applications. A word of warning, do not inject air into the printhead port or you will probably make the issue worse. Follow the instructions exactly and you shouldn't have a problem.

Works pretty well on HP printer
My attempt to save money and ink by tweaking my HP printer to use only black ink had an unexpected side-effect: The printer is supposed to use a tiny bit of color ink anyway, but so little at a time when printing in only black that after a while this ink dried up in the printhead nozzles and caused serious problems. It turned out that a new printhead actually cost more than the Amazon price for an entire new printer. But this cleaning kit restored my printhead. It comes with a special cleaning solution but I found that it was a bit cheaper and still very effective to prep the printhead by running the process with boiling hot water and then heated Windex before using the special solution. Anyway, it works and my printer now prints color very nicely thank you.

I don't recommend that. Each printer manufactor designs their ink to ...
The product arrived with all items and worked as described. My Ink Jet printer was not printing due to lack of use. I had to perform the cleaning operation several times before it would start printing. Unfortunetly part of the problem is my wife does not print very often and the jets soon clogged up again. I think the original problem resulted in lack of use but was compounded by her replacing the ink canisters with Generic Ink. I don't recommend that. Each printer manufactor designs their ink to meet certain charasteristcs. This is to insure you purchase the ink from them. This is where the manufactor makes his money, not on the printer. So the Generic ink helped clog up the ink jets. So the printer is again not printing.
