This shampoo does not have that white foam that puffs up your hair. It's a runny formula but it does lather well. This is a rice water shampoo so it feels more like a water-based formula versus a creamy body wash consistency.At first, I was skeptical about the way that it felt in my 4c hair because I didn't think it was cleaning it since the formula is so thin (and runny). However, I was surprised at the end results because not only did it make my hair feel clean but also didn't strip my hair at all. I have extremely thick hair that tangles easily and this did not tangle it up and it was easy to come through (after using both this shampoo and their conditioner).This feels like a light shampoo for weekly use for a light clean. I would probably use this as a weekly shampoo along with their conditioner because of how lightweight it is on the hair. This did not weigh my hair down and actually made my hair feel lighter after shampooing it. This is my first time trying a rice water formula and I can see why this is a staple in 4C hair routines. If your 4c hair is extremely dirty (with a lot of gel/goop), I would definitely use a thicker formula than this shampoo. But for weekly use, this is fine when you don't have that much product build-up.I use this conditioner after using their shampoo for the first time on my 4c hair. I would say this does soften the hair but I'm not sure I would like this conditioner as much if I didn't use their shampoo first.

Using this shampoo paired with the conditioner has saved my hair. I damage it a lot with color changes. I get bored so easily with my hair that I’m constantly processing it, or adding and removing extensions. Over time the quality of your hair decreases and it starts to loose its shine. This product not only was gentle on my scalp but it added the shine back. Don’t recommend you use it near to roots if you have extensions because it will loosen the bonds, but other than that it works great on natural hair and even the ends of my extensions.

This is a light-weight shampoo that leaves my hair looking and feeling clean without stripping away all of the oils from it. It has a lovely fragrance that doesn't last very long. It lathers moderately well and it feels as if it rinses away clean. I have long baby-fine hair that is quite dry and tangles easily and this shampoo causes even more tangles. It takes me a while to gently comb my hair out after using this shampoo, even if I use a conditioner as well. I don't think it really makes my hair look or feel any thicker or fuller, but it does leave it smooth and shiny. It also looks less damaged. My granddaughter has been using this shampoo as well and she is a much bigger fan of it than I am. She has thick, lovely hair and she certainly doesn't need anything to boost the volume of her hair, but she likes how manageable this leaves her mop of curly, unruly hair. The current price of $22.80 for a twelve-ounce bottle is a little too pricey for me to consider purchasing on a regular basis. Aside from the price, the only issue I had is that I was unable to get the pump to operate properly so I ended up having to take the cap completely off and pour a little out in my hand.

My hair is super dry and brittle so I've been trying different shampoos to find one that makes my hair a little silkier. This one is close--it's not perfect but it works well. It lathers up very nicely and cleans well. There is a floral fragrance and I mention that because if you're sensitive to scents, this might be a consideration. I'm a little sensitive but it doesn't bother me and after drying my hair, the scent fades fairly quickly. My hair feels clean and not overly dry, but it's not quite as smoothly silky as I'd hope. I should note, however, that I no longer use conditioners so.... Overall, I'm pleased with this shampoo and it feels particularly nice to use in the hot summer months as it seems to clean the sweat, etc, out of my hair very nicely.

I ordered this Rice Water Shampoo and Conditioner. Instead of one of each, I received two bottles of the conditioner. Wish I could review the shampoo but can only review the conditioner which is as follows (if the shampoo performs similarly to the conditioner):I didn't find this conditioner to be particularly hydrating. It is lightweight, so it didn't with my hair down, but I find that it doesn't leave my hair feeling very moisturized once I've rinsed it out.This is also heavily scented. It's a pleasant floral scent, but just know that it's very strong and will linger.I think this conditioner is a bit too pricy for what it is and likely would not repurchase.
