Wow!
Looks like a much more expensive pen and is a pleasure to write with.A bit light, but that means it's very comfy to use posted. You won't lose the cap. :)Nib is golden color and looks great. Looks the same as the gold Platinum nib (this one is gold-plated stainless steel). This is not comparable to a Platinum Century 3776 by any means (that one is considerably nicer), but a great daily pen anyway.Update, after a few years using it: the plastic body shows some scratches and the gold trim around the cap some wear. Still a nice pen.

Good pen for the price!
Platinum makes great pens. I like the feel of this one in my hand, good weight and size for me. Nib not quite as smooth as my 3776 Century, but still a nice writer.

Excellent choice for daily writing.
Even though I prefer pens that feel heavy, this one feels right. I needed to write a few pages to get used to the weightless sensation. The nib size was what I expected. Excellent product for the price I paid.

Too Scratchy to be useable
I really wanted to use this pen, but for some reason, the nib is just bad. The gold coating is scratched around the slit is scratched off, and the pen itself literally rips the paper I tried to write on. In addition, the ink is skips ridiculous amount.Overall, this pen looks nice, like the Platinum Cool, but cannot write well at all.

Beautiful pen with great flow
Beautiful pen with great flow! I normally use a medium but bought this pen with a fine nib and am so happy with it!Also very pleased with the service from this vendor. The pen arrived with a defect and they promptly dealt with the issue and sent me a replacement. Excellent customer service! Thank you!!

Dissapointing
The colour of the pen is great, the build is very good. However, being a long time fountain user, the nib was atrocious, it made me very angry. I have had more luck with other brands in the same price bracket straight out of the box.

I can't really complain, but
I can't really complain, but I was a touch disappointed. If you don't already know, the Preppy and the Plaisir are identical pens except that the Plaisir has aluminium body and cap whereas the Preppy has plastic. I think the Plaisir is an excellent pen, and is available from Amazon for less than £10. I have several. I was intrigued as to what the Balance would offer me for a bit more than double the price. The answer? A gold-plated nib. That's all. The body and cap are plastic and the nib doesn't write as smoothly as the Plaisir; I am talking about equal thickness nibs. The Plaisir glides more easily on the paper than the Balance yet the writing from the two pens appears identical in thickness, flow and appearance. So, I have a pen which costs four times that of a Preppy, writes a touch less smoothly, looks like a Plaisir but has plastic cap and body (barrel). If I hadn't bought it I would always be wondering what a more expensive Platinum would offer.I'm not bothered if the nib is steel or gold-plated. A pity, since that appears to be the point of the pen.Buy it if you are interested in a gold-plated nib. Otherwise, buy a Plaisir with 0.3mm nib.I've been using the pen for two days now. I must add that the nib is scratchy and noisy, and the pen is not supplied with a cartridge or converter.

Shockingly good nib
The feel of the “soft-fine” nib is incredible, if you’re used to smooth steel pilot nibs like I am. The very slight texture and shock absorption of this nib makes sure that the exclusive tactility doesn’t equate to fatigue or hampered writing. Highly underrated gem.
