paper is fine (round block)...glued binding not so much!
the block came apart before i even finished my first painting...having owned several-to-many watercolor blocks from various companies, i know that this is not supposed to happen...the block is supposed to stay together until the papers are cut apart...yes, we all know that ;) i bought two blocks of different sizes but have not tried the second one yet...i don't have my hopes up for it thoughi do like the paul rubens products very much and have a variety of them, including paints, papers, oil pastels, and etc. they are a quality brand...they always package their items beautifully. which always entices me to buy lol...but the quality has always borne out the purchases, so perhaps this is just a bad glue batch? maybe the glue will hold farther down in the block? i will always give them the benefit of the doubt

Nice!
This paper is very nice and the circular shape makes for interesting compositions.

Rather the standard rectangle, why not a circle?
UPDATE: 2 Nov 2021Although I wanted to really appreciate the product, but to obtain one sheet from the pad was such a strain that I decided to return just one of the pads. Rather wasting good paper, as an artist I knew I could recycle the already slightly torn edged paper for something else. This my way of helping the environment, keep what is possible for reuse then return the other.=================================The thought of painting a square, rectangular or oblong seemed so ordinary that I decided to try a new shape, why not a circle? In my opinion, the packaging was probably too perfect, meaning the plastic was extremely tight around the pad. Even with great care, I was unable to pry open normally, and as you can see in the photos, I had to literally take extra precautions to free the first page, resulting in ripped edges.Due to the lack of round pads in the usual craft store, I'll keep the two; however, I recommend that the wrapping be a little loose so that the paper is not damaged.
