Sesame Street Activepoint Book: Elmo Loves Words by Publication International

we have two of these "activepoint" books (also "Dora's Fiesta Adventure") and they are TERRIBLE! Neither of them works consistently. My kids want to play with them but the pen just doesn't work. Yes, I've tried new batteries. Every so often the book actually responds to what they are pointing at and that gets them to keep trying but that's the end of it. Any attempt to use these books ends in total frustration. Another smaller beef is that the cord on the pen is too short to use easily and my son, who is left-handed, has an especially tough time. DON'T BUY THESE ACTIVEPOINT BOOKS!I gave the books stars for fun and educational because my kids really do WANT to play with them and IF they worked they'd be fun and educational.

We bought this twice in hopes that the first one was a fluke because my son liked it so much. It's a pity that it doesn't keep working. After a few days the pen stops working and it is necessary. My son learned fast what to do so he got very frustrated when it stopped working. He is 18 months so he doesn't understand 'broken'. It had to disappear. It's too bad as it was a fast favorite.
