The media could not be loaded.  This Ultra Slim External USB DVD CD Burner Portable CD/DVD-RW Reader Writer Drive Player by WINTALE comes in very handy for me when I want to watch DVD's on my laptop which does not have a DVD drive. The drive is super lightweight. It is sleek and the black top actually matches my laptop which was pretty cool! I love the fact that the USB cord has a place underneath the drive, so that you can keep it in while not in use and it wont get tangled or anything. It has one button so it is easy to use, pretty much plug and play. However, one of the things I did not like about this was the fact that it does not come with many instructions. It does come with a small 2 page manual however that did not help me at all. My issue was that because my laptop does not have a DVD drive, it did not come with the programs to run DVDs. Originally I thought you needed to go into your computer devices and drives area and open up the stuff on the DVD itself but it still would not play. After much searching online, and more frustration, I refused to spend another $15 to buy the windows DVD player... I found a website with a program called VLC media player.. It was free so I decided to give it a try and it worked! No all I have to do is plug in my DVD drive, put in a DVD, and open up the VLC media player and voila! I can instantly play my DVDs! Great device, compact, light, sleek, quiet, works well... Just wish I had known how to get it to work!~Thanx~

Junk kinda works but not really

Works great. Pro-tip, in order to open it, it has to be plugged in.

USB 3.0 external cd/dvd RW drive.No frills packaging comes withe the unit and some instructions printed on the box.It's a plug and play device and shows up as a DVD drive on 'my computer' as soon as connected.I put a DVD to try and it opened fine. A day later, I wanted to rip an audio CD from kids class to laptop. Inserted disc and nothing.10 minutes of trying random stuff and found a forum post about correcting registry entry. Did that, and voila - audio CD !The drive looks well, USB connector tucks in under the body and is easy to carry.

Device works. However, I have to get registration number to use for burning CD/DVD. Sent message to Wintale and have not received an answer or registration number so I cannot use the device!

Works well and with a lenovo yoga 710. Plug and plat like advertised.
