Arusu, a young girl who believes in magic with all her heart, one day finds herself suddenly dropped into the middle of a magical world that's beyond her wildest imaginings. At first, it seems that her life's wish has finally been granted, but things quickly change as she find out more about the less-than-perfect wonderland. She soon meets two young witches named Sheila and Eva, and one wild broomstick ride later, all three girls are blamed for the release of the witches' source of magic, captured fairies. After an unusual punishment is delivered, they are given the task of recapturing the fairies, a difficult thing to do when Arusu keeps freeing them!

Yay!
Its a really cute anime that I loved watching so I had to get the whole set! You definitely gotta be into this style to really enjoy it because a few parts do jump around pretty quickly but still a great anime!

Lovely animation
We loved this film because of the quirky, whimsical animation style. The plot was typical shoujo faire, but the characters were lovable and cute.

Stylized and fun journey in an inventive witch world!
Since others have described the story and characters already, I'll just add my two cents. This is one of those unique gems of anime that has been overlooked and this price for the entire series is well worth it (I bought it on four discs individually). Visually stunning an inventive, it reminds me if you mixed Miyazaki with Tim Burton. I love the creativity of the world, details in the setting, character designs (broom designs!) and more. It's a treat alone to watch. The story itself is fitting, nothing mind-blowing but definitely intriguing to follow along and has a climatic end. I'd highly watch getting this series and watching with a friend.

A solid 3.5 star show
Arusu is just a normal girl with a strong belief in magic. So when she is suddenly transported into another world ruled by witches, she is thrilled to find real magic. But she isn't so thrilled to find that these witches spend much of their time capturing fairies and forcing them into slavery or using them as ingredients in spells. Arusu believes that magic should only be used to help people and to have fun, so once she figures out she really isn't dreaming, she sets out to change the world.Tweeny Witches is a very creative piece of work visually. And the world it creates is intriguing. I just wish that they had put as much work into their characters as they put into the art. The characters rely strongly on stereotypes starting out, but they do develop a little along the way. Shelia starts out as the dedicated, rule abiding type, but she slowly becomes more flexible under Arusu's wild influence. She is probably the most interesting and developed character in the whole series. Unfortunately Arusu is the main character and she is annoying. Granted, she is an 11 year old girl, so you have to cut her a little slack, but she never really grew on me. Eva is also a little annoying as the helpless, inept character, but she is cute and you can't help but feel sorry for her.The art was interesting and detailed, and the world really came alive through it. There are a lot of bizarre settings, stylized garments, and odd creatures, all done in a pleasant earth tone palette. Honestly, I watched this series for the art alone. Even when the story was boring me, I could always find some entertainment from the visuals.Tweeny Witches was originally broadcast in 9 minute episodes but was rearranged into two part episodes for DVD release. The entire series is 40 episodes, or 20 two parted episodes, which comes out as an average length anime show.

Cool
Didn't know what to expect, I have been a anime fan for quite awhile and have the habit of just checking out the title if the art intrigues me. Good little series
