Perfect for Suregrip Boardwalks
Amazing. I upgraded the wheels and bearings on my Boardwalks, and these are perfect with the Suregrip Boardwalk outdoor wheels. I’m zooming around sooo much better than the ones that came stock. In love.

First time buying these, installing them was fairly easy ! Had no issues that I’ve seen others mention about new bearings. Was gliding like buttah

Nothing slowing me down
Due to COVID-19, I haven’t been able to try these on my roller skates in a rink, but I will say I like them while I’ve been skating outdoors. Speed isn’t hindered at all for me

Slow bearings.
Right out of the box, these bearings are super slow. You spin them on your finger, and you're lucky to get maybe 3 or 4 rotations before it stops. I read up on it, and people mentioned that's because it's full of grease inside. The grease will bog it down and prevent it from spinning well. And people did say that when they actually skated with these in that new condition, it felt much slower than they were used to.So the idea is that when you first get these, you should get a strong degreaser and clean the bearings, then lubricate them with a lubricant made for skate bearings. It's a real hassle having to do that.I actually took apart the bearings completely, right down to the individual balls inside of them. Then I used an ultrasonic cleaner on them with TSP (trisodium phosphate, a powerful degreaser). I immediately followed up by rinsing them off with water, drying them quickly, and then tossing them all in 99% isopropyl alcohol to remove any water whatsoever. (Water can cause rust if you're not careful.) This cleaned them out thoroughly. There was no grease left at all.Next, I reassembled the bearings. This is difficult and not for the inexperienced. Most people don't take the bearings completely apart like I did, but I felt it really needed a very thoroughly cleaning to get all the grease out.I was able to reassemble all the bearings except one. One bearing gave me a ridiculous amount of trouble. And I realized it was because of a manufacturing defect. It was almost like the balls jammed inside. I never figured out why, but it was reproducible, and I tried many times taking it apart and trying again. I was unable to use that bearing. So, one out of the 16 bearings was non-functional. I don't think it was my fault, either. Then I added Bones Speed Cream lubricant to the remaining 15 bearings. Prior to adding the lubricant, they were extremely fast and spun freely a long time. It was great to see! But adding lubricant slowed them down considerably. They're very noticeably slower than, say, Bones Reds after cleaning and lubricating with Bones Speed Cream.Because one of the 16 bearings was defective, unfortunately, I wasn't able to test them out by actually skating with them. I suspect they will be slower than Bones Reds.My verdict: This is a "don't buy" in my opinion. Spend a little more money and get Bones Reds instead. They're going to work right out of the box without needing to clean and lubricate them. And they spin much better. If you're looking for slower bearings, like if you're a complete beginner and don't want go fast, these will work well for that application. Just don't try cleaning them, and the grease they come with will slow you down just fine.
